SHOGUN: A NOVEL OF JAPANFollow

#1 Mar 04 2004 at 9:58 PM Rating: Decent

oh my gosh have any of you ever read this book? by James Clavell? its one of the best books ive ever read (i read lots of books)

its set back in the 1600's where a Englishman gets shipwrecked in Japan and he isnt allowed to leave and Japan is a very tight security place that hasnt open up to all other countrys besides china, korea and stuff. so he is stuck there and he learns japenese customs and shares his advice about his world and war tactics, its got great action, romance and very exciting.

i recommend everyone to read this book even if you dont like to read. or go watch the movie.

Hmm, sounds strikingly like "The Last Samurai", which I saw, with doubts. Turned out to be a great movie. Probably one of my favorite Tom Cruise movies of all time, next to "Mission: Impossible" and "Top Gun".

Those two movies were just the shizzle.

Ooooooo .... Tom Cruise movies.

My favorite Tom Cruise movie is the one where he plays the cocky, young guy.

But seriously, if you like Shogun or any other James Clavell work, try anything by Leon Uris. He too writes grand sweeping epics.

That was a pretty good mini series. The best moment was when Richard Chamberlain's character gets urinated on. That was pretty outrageous for movies of the day.

And the age of a book has nothing to do with the quality of its contents. But you know that already.
