RACK the Marines for being uncouth and out-n-out exuberent!

I know this is going to deeply disturb some of you-- particularly the squeamish and candy a$$ed among you --but you have to laugh at the soldier's reaction afterward like he was at Disneyworld or something.

If you can't see the dark humor in this, well...

... guess pictures of dead kittens prolly wouldn't make you smile either.

NWS!

"Hell yeah, that was awesome, let's do it again!"

Savages. Funny as hell though.

Yee-haw! Like shootin' tin ducks with a pellet gun!

Looks to me like they were doing him a favor, putting him out of his misery instead of letting him die slowly in the dirt. They're humanitarians, man.

Did anyone else notice how many shots it took for them to hit him?

And yes, I don't find watching people get killed all that amusing. Call me candy a$$ if you must.

Debalic gets it.

Yanari, if you saw as much misery as I do on a daily basis-- most of it being voluntarily inflicted --you'd soon be laughing so hard tears would be flowing. My job places me squarely in the company of human train wrecks, so much so that if you didn't develop a defense mechanism all the health care workers like me would eventually swallow a shotgun barrel. And so things like this perversely make me giggle, jsut like that pic of that de-gloved human head I showed you guys some time back of the guy who got whacked by a helicopter blade.

Coo' stuff.

Well - on that occassion - as a European I have to say about you Americans:

Your music makes me dance
Your comedians make me laugh
Your movies make me watch
Your food makes me addicted
Your games make me play all weekend

but your arrogance, your ignorance, and your selfishness make me wish at least once each day the American Indians had succeded in driving us Europeans off their continent before we became what you are nowadays......

...flame me as you want, cant make me more angry than what I see on CNN each day....

Before I can make judgement, was he like shooting at them? Or was he just a bystander. Bystander makes it slightly amusing and wrong, if he was shooting at the marines makes it funny and okay.

Invis is the first person to notice this. I wondered when someone would mention it. We, the reader, are led to believe that the shooter is the young man interviewed, but the truth is, due to editing we have no idea if he was the shooter or if the man killed is, in fact, shot by US forces or if he is even dead. It's an assumption we make based on several things:

  • CNN's bank of trust as a news source
  • a camera supposedly never lies
  • auspicious editing
  • a limited field of view
  • no context to understand what is occuring

  • The media can be a powerful thing in influincing the public's mind, yes? How many of those bullet points did you find you had succumbed to?

Crazy brits. Our culture is kind of a package deal. Gotta take the good stuff with the bad. If you don't like it, you know where the door is, make sure it don't hit ya where the good Lord split ya.

This attitude about one's country has always mystified me. It's like you aren't really in love unless you think the loved one is perfect. Whatever happened to a long-term commitment where you recognize that the loved one is flawed, yet still desirable in the long-term?

    Details, girlfriend! Details!

Tell us all of Skeeter's flaws. In shocking, explicit, and reputation damaging detail. Especially his sexual flaws.

Well, considering there were four edits in that video, the marine is not identified, the script in no way leads up to the soundbite and you don't see anybody actually celebrating (you only hear them) I have to question the reality of what happened in that situation. I have been a Broadcast Journalist (i.e. Radio and Television Reporter) for a little more than 14 years, and spent all of it covering military operations, and I can tell you that the quotes from the Marine were most likely taken out of context, and were probably in response to something completely different.

Never trust what you see on TV, hear on the radio or read in the paper. It's WAY too easy to manipulate events to potray people in a negative light.

Take it from someone that has a first hand account of what went on over in Iraq or 'The land of sand' as it was named by some Marines.

That vid is complete and utter ********* No one felt that way when killing an Iraqi. Not only would that Marine being interviewed been repremanded swiftly, its a sort of code that any one of us has not to talk about things like that even if questioned by news personel.

    That vid is 100% hacked.

Lemme get this straight-- when Flea forgets her pill (and we can only assume you are discussing The Pill as opposed to a barbituate so as to render her senseless before the awful inevitable happens) you go out and purchase Magnum malt liquor. Is this so that you can get her drunk and take advantage of her now defenseless womb or because she needs it to prepare for the horrible onslaught from your burro sized "burrito?" <cough cough>

Take it from me, ok? GHB works alot better in these situations...

    Don't worry, I "get it".

There's a world of difference between hardening yourself against the many horrors you apparently see and taking perverse delight in them.
