Which job to takeFollow

Here's the deal. I've been offered two seperate jobs. The first pays roughly $350 a week, salary. Only problem, is that I would have to work 50+ hours a week, because it is a management position. Which means that I am on call 24/7 if anything goes wrong.

The other job pays roughly $800 a week, plus expenses. Problem here, is that I will be gone from home at least six days a week.

I'm inclined to take the first one, because of a woman that works there. Nothing serious yet, just heavy flirting and the like.

However, I am still looking at the second one, because I need the damn money. But I'm not sure if I want to give up on anything between me and Amy.

Any suggestions?

well damn, all i could think about through your whole post was that you wont get to play EQ as much no more.

my suggestion is take neither job, quit your current job, take that girl that you flirt with as your sex slave and you play EQ all the time and she cooks!! =)

I'm not going to tell you which job to take, SelfishMan. All I want to say is don't take a job just because of a woman. What happens when they hire another guy?

Women are evil. I love 'em to death, but they are.

i think you are more likely to know which job will suit you better than any of us.

i will echo what twiztid said and say that the girl probably shouldnt factor into your decision, especially if it isnt even any further than flirting.

Take the money. If nothing else, take the job for a month or two, build up a nice financial nest egg, then find something less disruptive to your schedule.

I'm taking the money.

I thought about it at work last night/this morning, (10pm to 6am) and the money is more important to me right now than anything else.

Thanks for your input guys, appreciated.

It's hard to maintain your authority as slavemaster when you have to move back in with Mom because you can't support yourself.

Assuming you are single and not just looking to pick up some nookie on the side, six days away from home should not be a big deal since you have no home fires whose embers you need to bank and keep glowing.

To accept a job based on the flirting of a woman-- whose interest in you may or may not be based in reality --is foolhardy at best. If she is genuinely attracted to you, then the relationship would show promise outside of work, a place you should never engage in romance in the first place. Don't **** where you eat. Couple that with much lower pay, more hours spent at work, and a possible romance that could easily go sour given any number of conditions...

...see where I am going with this? Yes, I read you have already made your mind up, but still, it needs to be reiterated to the others here how screwed up it is to make career decisions based on relationships. It's just a bad, bad idea. But for some reason people keep on trying to mix business with pleasure.

We were good friends before I ever started to work at the place I am at now. I should have made that a little clearer on my first post. But the flirting and such didn't start until I actually got the job. She got me the job, and she is the one that gave me the option to move to the management position. Maybe I shouldn't have taken the job in the first place, I knew that if things went bad it would be my *** on the line.

You hit the nail on the head Debalic. I enjoy driving anyway (even with all the ********* out there on the roads these days) so I figured why not get paid to do it?

I would love to, but my driving record isn't the greatest. That and my propensity to toke a lot - most trucking companies test, afaik.

You're kidding right?

You mean to tell me, that you would not walk away from the weed for that kind of money? You remind me of my friend Andrew. He ate a goldfish once, because he had the munchies.

Not sure about the driving record thing hurting you or not though. I've only had three violations in ten years. Two speeding, and one improper turn. My left tire crossed into the other lane on a left hand turn. Goddamned picky cops. That one cost me almost $200, because I was ONE DAY late paying the fine, and they issued a warrant for my arrest.

Wow. What city in **** Germany do you live in where the Gestapo, err police crack down that hard on moving violations? I hope I never have to pass through that place. When they pat you down, do they use billy clubs?

The joys of living in the South. Most of the cops around here are the very same kids that the picture in your sig represents. Now that they have that badge on their chest, they are nothing but "Billy Badasses" who like to give everyone and their ******* mother a hard time.

I have also been forcefully removed from a car by no less than eight cops in four separate cruisers, all who had their guns drawn and threatening to open fire if we did not comply.

All because we got locked out of a friend's house, and had to go through a window to get back in. Seems his neighbor thought we were breaking into the house, because two of the guys that were with us were black.

Was one of the people you were with, the one whose house you "broke" into? My roommate once almost got busted because he didn't have a doorkey and had to climb in through the kitchen window.
