The virus that is hammering us seems to be spoofing e-mail addresses from the EQ side mostly. Myself, the admins, OUtcastnecro, Madahmethecharming, etc. So seeing as OOT has its roots in the eq side, i thought I would post this over here as well just in case.

Some of you may be recieving virus messages purporting to be from the various users at this site. This morning, I myself recieved around 40 of them. The annoying thing is they all seam to be coming from the same person. Tracking the e-mail header information, the IP address 80.139.222.121, which is assigned to a user subscribing to service provided by RIPE Network coordiantion center in Amsterdam. They claim the address is assigned to a German dial up service via Deutsche Telekom.

If this could theoretically possibly be you, please immidiatly run a virus scan. http://housecall.trendmicro.com is a good one, as is symantec's http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/default.asp?productid=symhome&langid=ie&venid=sym
or mcafee's http://us.mcafee.com/root/mfs/default.asp

I don't really care which one you use, just please get it fixed. I'm going to let it go for another 24 hours, then I am going to request that the ISP deactivate the node until it is fixed. If you need help I am happy to assist. Auch kann ich einbisison Deutsch sprechen.

Yeah, it is faking your address. I think it is someone that has a bunch of people's addresses in their address book.
