I've recently been playing around with different browsers and things again. Back in the day I was a diehard netscape user, but Netscape 4's inherant buggyness really drove me away, and so I don't fully trust firefox. But I really like the tabbed browser support, speed, and some of the features of Firefox. But I want to stick with IE for the stability, and IE's tabbed version isn't due out for another 4 months or so.
Then I found this:

The avant browser is a browser program that uses all the Internet explorer components, but adds tabbed browser support and all the goodies (the only one I don't see from firefox is the download manager). So basically, you keep your history list, favorites, etc. Can still use Internet explorer, and it doesn't take up the same size as a full browser. It does look different than IE, but there is a skin available to make it look the same if you are like me and don't like icons to change too much

And best of all, it's freeware. It asks you for a donation in a pop up once, and it has a splash screen you can disale in options, but other than that, no annoyances. Worth looking at I think if you haven't seen it. Easy to uninstall if you don't like it.
