This is bugging me, what do you think?Follow

For the past few days, the right side of my throat has been sore to the touch, I've had sore throats before, so I didn't pay too much attention to it, but upon waking up this morning, there appears to be a 'lump' on my throat, just up and to the right of my 'adam's apple'.

Doing searches on google brings up everything from cancer to infected tooth to just irriatated lymph nodes. Should I give this a week or so to see if it goes down? Start praying? Go repent?

If I die I'm taking my Crown with me damn it.

Gargle with extremely salty water for 3 days. If it still hurts after that, go see a doctor. Most likely just a swelling or inflammation, but if it cancer, I'd like it if you left a little something for me in the will. The penismobile maybe?

It doesn't hurt when I swallow (yes, I know that's a great shot for a joke at me, but don't, it won't be funny now)

Only when I put my fingers on my neck as if checking for my pulse does it hurt, and hurt isn't really the right word, just feels irritated.

I'll definately be checking it out tomorrow, I don't have work until Tuesday.

I'm going over to Flea's house tonight, her mother is a Nurse, I'll have her check it out too.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not the typical "Eh, it will fix itself eventually" kind of guy, I like being healthy, and with my trip to Miami with Flea coming up in a week, I especially don't want to be sick.

Are your mumps shots up-to-date?

Just me, but I would go to the doctor.

Mumps shots: Uses HUGE nasty needle about 6 inches long and about as big around as an 1/8 inch drill bit, given direcly into your naked rump. Prevents disease.

No loss of appetite, no fever, my balls are big, but they were like that before the lump, so I don't think it's mumps.

(sigh)

He called this morning, told him to gargle and he said he would "in a bit." Think he's done it since then, but I will whip up some horseradish gargle. Tastes like crap but gets the yuk out!

I think if gargling involved lasers he'd be cured by now.

Horseradish? We're fighting biological warfare here, not dressing a Polish sausage. I say Skeet should gargle with some antibacterial liquid Dial soap. Failing that, try drinking a bottle of hydrogen peroxide

Not responsible if you take either of my suggestions

Jesus Christ!!! What a horrific way to kill a sausage.

Horseradish infusion gets all the phlegm out. I'm brown and closer to the Earth. I know these things.

I've been getting the same thing for years. I suffered a very nasty throat wound some years back, and despite (or perhaps because of) a couple surgeries on it, this is a recurring condition with me. My doc told me it was inflammation of the sheath that surrounds the carotid artery. Any anti-inflammatory should take care of it.

Update:

I'm not dead.... yet.

I've gargled with hot salt water, hot horseradish water(don't ask), more hot salt water, and Listerene.

Seems a little bit smaller, I'm going to go to bed, I'll let you guys know if I die.

Goodnight.

You feeling better Skeet or did you die and let the boards decend into Anarchy without it's head of state?
#25 Feb 23 2004 at 5:48 PM Rating: Decent
Have you had your wisdom teeth out yet? Mine are still in, and for the most part dont bother me, but occasionally one side will get sore and the gums will swell. The pain from just swallowing makes it feel like its in my throat.

Just a thought.

That's actually a very possible prognosis, Leap. Furthermore, if some individuals leave their wisdom teeth in too long permanent nerve damage can result, leaving the sufferer looking like they had stroke.

Now there is a mental picture for ya: Skeeter with a droopy face, complete with drool cup, dragging his left leg behind him muttering, "I am not an animal! I am not an animal!" while slowly running from neighborhood children throwing rocks at him.
