That's not bad for the price. I would see if you could go up to an 875 chipset motherboard instead of that 865, as there is a significant upgrade between the two chipsets, most notably the 4 Dual channel DDR slots and better SATA support. That video card is going to be really anemic for the processor, but you can always upgrade that later.

the video card *sucks*. i'd get a slightly weaker processor and put it towards a nicer video card. now granted, its the same card i have, but im also running an anthlon 2200 xp, so it isnt like its not up to par with the rest of my machine.

you may also want to consider getting more ram.

Yeah, I had definitely planned on upgrading the memory and video card once I get some more money :) The price for this unit almost matches my income tax refund this year so I thought it was a good place to start. Compared to the 533MHz Celeron that I'm running now (w/ onboard video, 196 RAM, 30 GB HDD) this will definitely be an upgrade for me in all areas. Thanks for the feedback.

I agree with angry hippo. The graphics card is definitely your achilles heel, especially if you want to do computer graphics. Also, any computer graphics program is ram-hungry, so you may want to consider 1 gig of ram.
I recommend, as does Hippo, downgrade the CPU but get the "C" version P4 , probably a p4 2.8 "C" overclock it to a 3.2, get another 512 of ram and go with nothing less than an ATI 9600 XT Pro or Nvidia equivalent. With that setup you will be able to run most games at high settings (youll smoke EQ either way) and have some decent render times with 3d programs and Photoshop 7 will run great.
As for the rest of the parts, they all are top notch although I would consider a Lite On Cd - Rw drive as they are evrey bit as good as Sony and usually alot cheaper.
As for a case I highly recommend an Antec SLK2600AMB- a mid sized tower for 50 bucks that comes with a 300 watt PS. You can always upgrade the PS if need be but the case is just plain awesome for the price.
