Does anyone have any nicknames? I am often called Kitty by my friends...which relates to my proclaimation that there aren't nearly enough people named Kitty in the world. It stuck.

I won't drive you to the point of insanity by telling you all the nicknames my b/f has for me...but a couple are Noodles and Nibbler. Wrestle with that!

Also, called Schmelly or Smelly...related to (nooo, not my scent) my real life name.

Got any? Or given any?

For some reason i was Dubbed 'Lucky' on my first ship by a 6'5" ex gunner called 'Rocket Rob' it kinda stuck and thats what i have been called ever since, IMHO it could have been far worse Smiley: grin

The navy has no imagination when it comes to nick-names and generally your surname dictates it, fortunately i have not got one of the common surnames like...

Smith = Smudge
Brown = Buster
Daniel = Jack
Crow = cheryl

you can guess more i bet.

My father, who went to a military school, often refers to me affectionately by his mother's maiden name. He also calls me "Bird," albeit in Spanish.

Snuffy. Got it in college, continued to use it as an Ultimate Frisbee name.

Dubbed so for a distinctly less noticeable now than in Junior High birth defect, Cyclops. It has since been shortened to Cy, and stuck, though not so much in the new homeland. While my old friends back home constantly refer to me as nothing other than Cy, my new friends refer to me as "kid" when addressing me, or "the boy" when referring to me.

I've had a few derogatory nicknames made up from my real first name. My sister is the only one I allow to call me by a nickname.

The only nickname that really stuck with me was 'D to the G', given to me by the guys on my old hockey team. D being the first letter of my first name, and G being the first letter of my last name. The other one that seems to be picking up around the dorms is Explosivo, basically because that's my name when me and the guys play CounterStrike on the LAN.

I was G-Man to the guys I served with (first letter of my first name).

The Voice on my baseball team (I have a particularly deep, booming voice)

My wife calls me The Beast, which is a reference to Beauty and the Beast, in that she is a petite, beautiful blonde, and I am a large, hairy, ill-tempered goon, until you really get to know me.

A bunch of guys I used to hang out with all gave each other Indian names. There was Sleeping Thunder (a guy who snored at a decibel level that rattled the windows), Pukes on Self (lightweight drinker, self-explanatory), and Talks 'til Dawn (would get stoned and yak all night). They were considering differnt ones for me, but that gang got broken up before anything was finalized.

Was it the Cowboy posse, with their names like Chuck, Billy and Hank?

Changes? Who said anything changes?

But seriously, I tend to be slow to warm up to people because my sense of humor can be a bit caustic. I tend to remain fairly close-mouthed until I can judge what sort of reaction I'll get from someone, but once I get them figued out I can become a large, hairy, charming, ill-tempered goon.

I was first nicknamed Loki because a mischievious nature, then when my sister was born, my family nicknamed me Bubba because my little sister couldn't say brother (i'm sure everyone who has a younger sibling has a story like that). Then in high school I got nicknamed ninboy because of my obsession with Nine Inch Nails.. it's just one of things you don't ask about. I was also called Jer-Bear by an ex-girlfriend, I hated that. Now I just go by Haggan, which was actually a random name generated by EQ, which was also the name of my first char on the Veeshan server.

My family calls me 'Croak', 'Croakie', and 'Croaker'. I was given this moniker because, as an infant, I had a tendency to make sounds which resembled a death-rattle while sleeping. Initially, upon hearing what they believed to be the last of the post-mortem gasses being expelled from my body, my parents had assumed I was dying. Alas, much to their chagrin, such was not the case. I just happened to snore like a jabberwocky.

My friends call me 'Nicky', which is derived from my last name.

In EQ, I was usually called 'Knom', an abbreviated form of my most notorious handle, and 'QOE', which was short for 'Queen of Everything'.

The nickname given me by my father was "Mook" when I was born, but it didn't stick. By 4th grade I had grown to 6' 1" and got named "Stork" for having scrawny legs and an ungainly way of moving. "Dutch" was my nic in the Army and here at work I have been "Slinky" for the past 9 years due to a co-worker taking my last name and horribly mangling it.

Starting way back in the days of Junior High School, I got the name "hands". This relates both to my amazing manual dexterity and to the bazillion girls that I dated (being a varsity athlete, there never was a shortage of friendly girls). /sigh... the good ole days....
Anyway, when I got onto a volleyball team in the Army, I got my nick upgraded to "Magic-Hands". (not to be confused with Forest Gumps "magic Shoes") I got this name becuase I could always get my hands on the ball, never missed. I was christened this by our female medic, she was a real sweetheart.
