What is everyone elses hobbies besides the extremely addictive MMO genre?

I enjoy modifying my cars when I have the extra money and spending the day on the lakes here.

I am writing a screen play, which I may put aside and start a novel. Feeling inspired lately. I also love to read, paint and watch movies. In addition to all that, I teach ESL and am smack dab in the middle of house-building madness! I love to go camping...hope to do more of that and travel in the next few years. Yay!

Enjoying the great outdoors!

Seriously though, I'm into mountain biking, I wish I could afford a car (since I'm a car freak too), workout at the gym, play volleyball, study... hehe

I also hope to be able to camp alot more too eventually, buy a kayak, go exploring. Love movies, going to the club fridays, too much to list!

I'm at University. :)

Tare what kind of stuff are you writing? I've tried working on screenplays and novels before, but I'm not motivated enough to get past the first page or two.

When I'm not playing EQ, I'm playing something else silly and inane to waste time. Solder of Fortune 2, Tiger Woods PGA 4, recently Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance 2. Occasionally I read, or write, or watch movies, but more likely I'm just sitting around smoking weed and doing nothing.

You know...being slightly dyslexic can be a bad thing...a really bad f'ucking thing. I'll not get that mental picture out of my head for awhile.

Anyways, I usually work all the time, so my free time is spent either reading, drinking, or sleeping.

On the rare occasion I do get to do something interesting, I like to play frisbee golf. We have two courses near here, with a third about two hours away. Also called "Frolf" by George Costanza.

I am writing a screen play for a novel - Fifth Business - and it's going well, but this the first one I have ever written so it is difficult. Argh!

The novel I am just contemplating, but it will be about love, most likely, because that is where my head is lately. Argh!

I want to get on the smoking weed and doing nothing program!

As I have no car and I am too young to drive, I often read and write. I write novels, poetry, and fan fictions, though I often do school essays. I usually spend the remaining time trying vainly to memorise The Silmarillion, or to make up elven names for my mother. I have never made a good one:-)

I often play other games.

It's good sometimes to wash out the dried spooge. If you let it build up it gets difficult to keep turning tricks.

Hmm, I play a lot of Counter Strike on the LAN in my dorm with guys on my floor. That's my other computer-game-addicting game. Other than that, I watch a lot of sports (Go Illini) and do school work.

On the weekends I get drunk. 'Nuff said.

My elf name is Debalic Vanyamar.
Or is it Belhade Baulien?

My real name gives me Beren Táralóm. Nice to be named after someone as heroic as Beren Erchamion.

Debalic Vanyamar = Elladan Sáralondë (Elladan being one of Elrond's sons, brother of Elrohir)

Belhade Baulien = Mablung Telrúnya

Computer gaming is my major hobby, so when not on EQ, my wife and I will currently play any of the following:

Neverwinter Nights
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II (Actually, just finished it last night)
Many other X-Box titles (Prince of Persia, The Simpson's Hit & Run, Knights of the Old Republic, etc.)

I got my wife hooked on Diablo II and we will be playing that after we watch one of our rented DVDs tonight (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Tomb Raider II, Fast & Furious II). We are going to go through the original Baldur's Gate series (BG1, Tales of the Sword Coast, BG2, Throne of Bhaal and the Icewind Dale series (IWD1, Heart of Winter and IWD2).

Other than that, exercise (when we remember to, doh!), socialize with friends and family, go to the movie theater (when something is deemed theater-worthy, i.e., Lord of the Rings), play cat wranglers with our 5 cats (3 of them classified as insane geriatrics), read novels (currently we are both on a huge Terry Pratchett kick), cartooning (when I feel creative), watch DYI shows on TV (there is something about watching other folks do manual labor that is quite relaxing... Smiley: tongue )

My real name converts to this Elven name - Finrod Elensar
my wife's name converts to Eldárwen Elensar
My board name converts to Gwindor (you have to put in a last name to get it to work, so I just used my real last name...)

So you use the notorious namemaker?

Come off it, I am a real elvish expert in Korea, I can help you. I have many readymade names, but my name is the longest of all perhaps.

Helcahisie, Romensil Morlome Eartir, Elentier Vanwalinde Elenalta Romennore

You would never believe it, but that is my name. If you know where to put all the accents, I will admit that you did well.

I will help translate the notorious names:-) Vanyamar means the dwelling of the Vanyar. Taralom means(is it not Taralome?) the high night(a pretty funny last name to have!), and Saralonde I cannot figure out for I lost my dictionary a couple of weeks ago. My cousin stole it to learn it herself. londe means haven. Tel means last.

(When I am not playing EQ I am bombarded with elvish questions)

Okay, I got curious and got myself an elvish name too. It came out as Galadriël Sîrfalas. As a hobbit, I'm Lobelia Bumbleroot of Haysend.

For fans of the term "*** hat", it translates as Nátulcien Cúthalion.

When I'm not geeking out on EQ, I geek out watching movies, tormenting the cats or toodling around the internet looking for interesting things.

Man, I should get some exercise.

When not playing Eq I work. Oh wait, hobies? Oh heck. I'm sure I must have one/some...I have played some John Madden Football '04. I enjoy designing plays. Since my favorite team is the Chargers, I need really sweet plays to have any chance of winning with them. But my wife likes it better when I play Eq because we can do that together.

I also read exercise, camp, hike, walk the hound, who by the way reached the "unliftable" stage at about a year of age (great dane). She walks into the shower for "baths". She huddles in the corner and spreads out her ears horizontally like Yoda, and hangs her head down so her giant jowles nearly touch the floor. Then I take her out and dry her off as well as I can then when released from the bathroom I yell "release the hound!" and she runs around the house like a maniac for a few minuets. And then she settles and the licking begins. It's like she just got too clean and has to restore the accustomed level of grime to herself, and give back the oh so special odor.

My elf name is Elerossë Séregon. I assume the surname has something to do with trees?

No, the name means a bloodstone. I assume you know what bloodstone is? It is a kind of blood-coloures agate(according to what I know), and no moss agate.

i try playing WC3, D2, Morrowind, PS2, X-box or any of the other 10,000 games i've bought and never played because EQ has cursed me..i end up getting bored with them and logging back in to see if i can find a group again.

every once in a while I go out with the gf, watch tv or cook with her, do some theoligic research or other random stuff. I have yet to find a hobby...eq is the only thing in my life that has kept my attention for this long.
