You bought a second hand account?

ouch....

I's been awhile since I've played this, um, EQ you talk about, but from what I remember, once you install it, that's it bud.

Once someone registers the account key off the CD's... well, it's their account now. The only way you can play it is to get the account information from the guy who had it first. Any chance you know this person?
#5 Feb 05 2004 at 3:40 PM Rating: Good
Going to need his Account Name, and Password, then you'll have to switch his billing information with yours, then, you'll have to worry your *** off thinking about whether or not he'll be enough of an *** to steal his account back.

Or, cut your losses and buy my Everquest Cd's! They've uh... never been used.... yeah...

What if I bought a new version of EQ and used that account. Would that activate my account and the expansion packs?

This is really ****** - I have had the game for the last hour and can't get in game

:(

Nope, those cd keys for the expansions belong to his account name.

You'd have to buy EQ Evolutions, that's everything up to LDON IIRC.

Yep, if you buy the game new, it will be no problem. You'll have the CD keys from the new game to start a new account. (Just check the box, ppl have been known to open the box, get the account key, and put the box back on the shelf).

EQ Evolutions will give you everything up to Lost Dungeons of Norrath. Good deal. (sorry if you already knew this, hehe)

Up to, but not including, LDoN. Just to clarify.

Includes Classic, Kunark, Velius, Luclin, Planes, and Ykesha.
#10 Feb 05 2004 at 4:05 PM Rating: Excellent
Just to clarify

You can't buy EQ:evolutions in the UK except from dodgy sites

Do I need to get a key from an evolution box to activate all the packs or will a regular account do the job as I don't know how I will be able to get an evolution key that hasn't been used?

Cheers in advance

To activate the whole kit 'n kaboodle you need an Evolutions key. Otherwise, you'll need a seperate Kunark key, Luclin key, Velious key, etc.

Make a friend in the States who's willing to buy a copy of Evolutions and give you the key Smiley: grin

You can't order Evolutions from Amazon or a similar site?

I have no idea how these things work for folks overseas...

Customs restrictions on exporting and importing software, I'd assume.

How much did your fake EQ set you back, anyway? Was it just basic EQ or Evolution or what?

Basically SoE don't like the UK

Starwars Galaxies got a 6 month date pushback when US ones were released.

SoE brought out EQ: New Dawn UK pack in order to ***** us further by releasing it at the same time as EQ:evolution but only putting 3 expansion packs on and charging nearly double.

The only UK websites that sell it look like a 4 year old made it to ***** us further - cashing in on SoEs skankiness.

Not a happy chappy

Sat here with an installed game just waiting for an account.

:@

Edit - I paid 16 for EQ:evolutions which the guy had only used once and decide MMOs weren't his thing. Thats about 20 dollars I think.

Okay at the risk of getting shot here I do have an eq trilogy key you can try if you want - it was a second account trial key which I never used. BUT i did give it to someone before and im not sure if they used it.

Its not the full evolutions but it would get you started if it worked. And no its no iffy it was one of thier attempts to get me so hooked i ran two accounts.

You don't have e-mail up so i can't just send it.

daffy,

Trying to buy eq here is just ***** - especially since SOE sold out distribution rights to Ubisoft. Think on this, Ubi customers get no download of GoD - plus Ubi are not f...ing selling it on their site last time i checked.

Also last time i looked amazon had GoD for release in August. Now that is sucky customer service regardless of whether you think GoD is an expansion worth buying or not.

**** i im the wrong board for this

Not to restate the obvious (But I'm gonna):

That freakin' sucks.

What's SoE's beef with the UK?

(I feel a special kinship here since I am a third-generation American of Irish descent with a good deal of Irish pride hammered into me and also have the RL name of Woody. (Aren't you just about farging sick of Toy Story jokes?) )

Boils down to "cash in the bank Frank" I guess:(

I hate to add up what I've spent on expansions, I may have started on a free download of classic - but i daren't even add up the rest - cost nme $50 alone just to fill in the **** velious gap:) ...

"friendly fire" at its best i guess --- oops bad ref

Lol.

Hey Joph, you hear that joke about the class of retarded people that go to a zoo?

No?

Ok, so this class of retarded people go to a zoo, they come up to the first cage and the teacher asks "what animal is that?".

One of them yell out "Tiger!" and the rest shout "Yay for the retarded kid, yay for the retarded kid!"

They come to a second cage and the teacher asks "Now, what animal is that?"

Another yells out "Lion!" and the rest shout "Yay for the retarded kid, yay for the retarded kid!"

They come to an open field and they see one of those orange animals... the one with the long neck, what was the name of that one again?

A guy is driving a pickup down the road and in the bed is about twenty penguins. Cop pulls the guy over and says "Hey buddy, what do you think you're doing with these penguins in your truck in the middle of town?" Guy says "Oh, I was on my way to take them to the zoo." Cop says "Well, alright then. Be on your way." Couple days later, the cop sees the same truck full of penguins and pulls the guy over again. "Hey, what's the big deal? You said you were taking these penguins to the zoo!" Guy says "I did. Today we're going to the movies!"

Ha! Zoo themed jokes slay me.
