My roommate once remarked how bizarre it was that I know pretty well what phase the moon is in at any given time. This doesn't strike me as odd - the fact that many people never acknowledge the moon, does.

Anyone have any idea what phase the moon is in and going to, without looking out the window, at a calendar, etc.?

I was just thinking to myself that it's gonna be full soon, if not already.

Me and the moon, we're close. He's my bud.

I have no idea what phase of the moon it is, and I have to wonder why you know. Is there a practical use for this information? Is the moon made of cream cheese? Is mooning while driving down the highway fundamentally wrong?

Speak moon to me, or perish!!

Moon messes around with my mood quite often.

I know to count to 10 and rethink things during a full moon, I can get quite snappy :)

Well, I have for many years usually worked late shifts and tend to drive home at night with only the moon for company. I've always been a night time person, and astronomy is a hobby of mine.

What I like best about the moon is when it's full and lights up the night. Makes everything look eerie and beautiful.

Going into full. I see the moonrise as I'm driving hom in the winter months so it's pretty easy to keep track of.

Reach a hand to the crescent moon and grab hold of the hollow. If she sits on the palm of your left, the moon will be fuller tomorrow. If she sits on the palm of the right, that moon is on the wane, and soon the one who shares your bed will be doing just the same -- Cowboy Junkies, "Crescent Moon"

I believe it is waxing, not too many days from full. It was very bright last night while I was walking the dog...

Yes - it's surprising how many people do not look up into the sky and NOTICE what's going on more often. I generally do, but I'm a meteorologist and always looking up there anyway.

Yeah Deb, I like that too.

My place back in CA, I'd be able to walk around outside at night and see just fine, even have a shadow from the moon's light.

I always know the phases of the moon, but that's only because it's work related. We need to know how much illum we are going to get for going into tight LZs on varous scene calls around the AO.

I'm only moody when I lack THC in my system :)

or when I feel the pull of the moons gravity on my brain juice

It's starting already.

A coworker has this stupid program which displays these two "salsa dancers" on your screen and they "dance to the music".

Ok, you're saying, what's wrong with that?

Nothing. At first.

After calling 10 people to his desk to watch it, laughing like a retarded hyena each time, still not much of a problem with it.

3 days have passed, 3 fu'cking days, and still, he plays a song, puts on the dancers, and laughs uncontrollably for hours.

I swear he is smoking weed or something, nothing can be that funny for that long.

Plus, the **** things aren't even close to dancing along with the music, I know how to keep a beat, and they are definitely not on it.

I think his dancers are going to have a fatal accident tonight after he leaves.

That sounds like something from The Office (god I love that show). I'm very sorry Skeeter, I would have snapped by now.

Oh, I've snapped, I snapped after the first 5 times or so.

I just have to types of snapping, inner, and outer.

Those so called "salsa dancers" will feel my wrath.
