Dear Kao,

I have recently deleted the dreaded Kazaa, but the notorious spam sh'ite keeps popping up.

Any ideas on how to get rid of it?

Thanks in advance.

I'll save Kao the time.

Get it, install it, run the update (globe icon on the interface) and have it scan your computer. Very large majority of your problems will we solved.

Ugh, I have that program already. Decided to let it scan my disc while starting up.

Thanks a lot.

Use this along with the ad aware program.

Between the two, no spyware should be able to survive.

It's called Spybot Search and Destroy, personally, I like it more than I like ad aware.

A lot of folks neglect to check for updates when running Adaware too, so make sure you're using the lated pref file.

My partner here thought he had it all cleaned up when I asked if he checked for a new pref file... I got a blank stare. Seems he had never done that.
Once we did it found over 100 new items.

Well, since I am a cheapass when it comes to software I only have the free version of AdAware. Is that a problem for the updating of it?

My link up there isn't fake GK, honestly, it's a good program. Ask Kao.

I believe you can update the ad aware with out having purchased it.

I've been using Ad-Aware for quite some time - on advice from Kao. You can update without the purchase. I just downloaded the Spy-Bot and ran it after running Ad-Aware and it found 10 more threats. Sounds like the 2 are a good combo.
