GWB:

"Everything we do is right and just. I thank you all for being good! We have a choice, vote for me or the terrorists win! 9/11! 9/11!

"I feel so blessed to be an American, and proud and just for saving the poor Iraqi people from the Antichrist. Thank you all for being so patriotic and good.

"We sure showed Bin Laden not to mess with us! No longer will Saddam give refuge to evil terrorists, dangerous men who would eat blessed American children because they hate our freedoms. I congratulate you all for helping win the war on terrorism through pride and goodness.

"We have done much, justly and goodly, but must keep going on. Do not change horses mid stream, or the bloodthirsty terrorists will sodomize our mothers and pour sugar in all of our gas tanks.

"Schools are important. They teach our children to read, to write. Schools must be accountable, and follow our good instructions, or we will give thier funding to more trustworthy religious schools.

"Gay people are an abomination against God's Law, and therefore must not be granted equal protection under the law. We will have to amend the constitution to make sure America maintains it traditions.

"Our elderly thank you for being kind and good to them, by helping them subsidize drug companies and insurance companies. More money must be given the these great, patriotic companies who help the elderly.

"Sports managers, test your players for steroid abuse. Any players found guily will be brought to justice, and classified as enemy combatants, and locked away in Cuba away from legal council and family. We must set a good, just example.

God bless America, and noplace else!

That speech was a Democrat's dream of what his speech should have been! Keep proving us right, Bush. You moron.
#8 Jan 22 2004 at 12:26 PM Rating: Good
The democrat's dream would actually be if half the country stopped either voting republican regardless of Bush's beliefs or stopped agreeing with him whole heartedly. Until that happens, it'll take more than a speach to get the job done.

He's polling at 41 percent to 45 against Kerry as we speak. I'd hardly call that an overwhelming endorsment of his beliefs.

His numbers ticked down across the board after the speech.

Oh, and to the resident genious, there's a big difference between polling in January against an imaginary opponant and voting in November when the choice is between continuing something that's working so well it's scaring the **** out of the democrats or letting in some liberal democrat who'll gut the nation's security infrastructure and leave us vulnerable to another 9/11.

Damnit, I said 9/11! Cower in fear, you hippies. 9 f*cking 11. Jesus H. Christ on a Krispy Kream donut, 9/11!!!

It never has been in the past. There have been tons of very bad men that we never even looked twice at .... many of whom were placed in power, or directly supported by the U.S. Saddam was one of them.

But regardless of Sadaam's karmic situation, THAT was not the reason we went to war. We went to war, according to Bush, to protect ourselves from (non-existent) weapons of mass destruction, which Sadaam was alledgedly going to give to terrorists (with whom no credible link has yet been established).

Moebius the fart bag says....

You do realize that near the end of the Clinton administration, a report was completed that warned of terrorists using jetliners against heavily populated targets, and that this report was handed to Bush's transition team.......and was never heard from again? Apparently they didn't even bother to read it.

So stop trying to place the blame for everything on liberal Democrats. It was Regan that gutted the human intelligence forces in favor of electronic and satellite resources.

The current situation did not just pop up out of the blue during the Clinton years. Its been building for a long time. Regan actually GAVE Saddam WMD's to help him in his war against Iran. And had Bush Sr. displayed any balls whatsoever, he'd have pushed into Baghdad and eliminated Saddam in '91. Its been the repeated failures of Regan, Bush Sr. and now Bush Jr. that have put us into today's situation.

So why didn't Clinton go after Sadaam? Because Bush had already set the precedent for allowing him to remain in power. Why didn't Clinton go after Bin Laden? He did, but like Bush he didn't catch him. Osama's a pretty wiley character.

So just quit you're partisan whining and get in touch with the facts.

The choice between continuing with and administration by whose actions 500 (more by then, I'm sure) US troops have died and who is the first administration in 60 years to loose jobs under it's watch? I'm pretty comfortable leaving that choice up to the electorate.

Kerry's not Dean. He's a decorated Vietnam War vet who'll destoy Bush on national defense. You'll see the Republicans specifically steer the debate away from that if he's the nominee. They'll be much more inclined to wage the battle over the culture war and try to pain Kerry as an out of touch "Massachusetts Liberal".

Funny, but it's not the Liberals who are cowering in fear over 9-11.

We'll always be vulnerable to another 9/11. We're not bathed in a holy glow. We don't have a globe with lasers covering our air space. It'll always be something, and that won't change no matter who is in office.

Although a Dem would be way better.

[your response to why we went to war in Iraq, which was a crock of ****]

We went to war in Iraq because:

a) Sadaam tried to put the beat down on Bush I.
b) Oil is really really important to us.

Does that make sense? Good. WMD was a smokescreen to get the rest of the world in some way on board. It worked and it didn't. Boo hoo. We're there now. What would you have us do, an overnight pull out? Moron.

Hmm. A witty pun. I guess we both have titles reflecting real life afflictions. Yours is manifested by taking on people who dwarf you in rhetorical skill and intellectual prowess. Nice work.

Did your guy make it public? Didn't think so. If one administration didn't take too much stock in it, why should the next?

Quote:

Heh. Why? I like blaming things on them. They are responsible in large part for the financial jeopardy this country faces today. Going back 4 generations, actually.

Ditto, you feckless idiot. I have a pretty live and let live attitude with people here. Except Smash. He lords his sub-par analysys of the world over people here like it is gospel. Trouble is, he's generally pointed at least 110 degrees off true north. Backwards is not a way of thinking I like to have perpetuated. You, on the otherhand, are a bug. My windshield has eaten most of your family without a second thought. You can't be far behind. I would suggest 2 things to try before coming in here and tussleing next time.

1) Learn a little about the world and the way it works. Yes. We in power do things in an underhanded and sneaky manner. Largely because you, not in power, would prefer to have us make nicey with everyone. Remember why Reagan got elected? Hell, I was 6 at the time and I knew he was a f*ck up.

2) Understand that partisan whining isn't when it comes from the people who are making the laws. I'm not whining a bit. I love the way things are going. Toughen the patriot act for all I care. The only thing shrub has messed up so far is the damn migrant worker thing. But I imagine it will be set right by the time it actually comes to a vote, after the next election.
