Sorry if this has been posted before, but I just saw it and thought of you all.
No, in a good way, really.

Deep down inside, I think all of us are in touch with our inner geek.... but we keep it inside. Sure, we let them out to play computer games or even pen and paper games. And that's enough. We never need to reveal to the public the utter dweebitude of our geekiness, and god forbid we should ever do as these people have done and do it in public and let it be captured on video tape.
OMG, ROFL. The funniest part is that some of the people in the background look like they are afraid to attack. They're like afraid of being hit with a foam-rubber sword LOL. Whats with the dude tossing lightning bolts. I mean how many times can you cast a spell without rememing it? (assuming that they are playing by at least 2nd edition rules) Seriously though, he is like hitting everyone but the monster. Hmm.. how do you determine the damage of a ping pong ball............?

Whoa, wait a minute. Ok. Fess up. Which one were you? You were one of the guys in the back afraid to run up and attack in fear of getting hit with the foam mallet weren't you?
Is it just me or did he cast "death" at the end? Why not just do that from the beginning?
I just don't understand why anyone would record it. I mean, the kid in the star wars video was just a kid, and maybe didn't know better, but you'd think these guys would. What are they going to do, go home and review their strategy? One would think they 40 year old man in the kilt yelling "lightning bolt" would already be an expert!

K, I'll admit that I played pen and paper from D&D up till AD&D Second Edition. However, short of working the Ren Fair for 4 years, I never got into the beat each other with a wooden sword bit. I used to have an employee that was a GM for all this live action stuff. I used to have to sit and listen to him rambling on for hours about how cool he was and (get this) how chicks think GM's are hot.
As for the video, they are most likely a bunch of SCA kids. Take a look at events like the Pensic (spelling?) Wars. Every year a couple hundred people get together and beat the hell out of each other in a big war. I've heard tale of people getting pretty messed up out there.
'Lo, there do I see, the line of my people, back to the beginning, 'lo do they call to me, they bid me take my place among them, in the halls of Valhalla, where the brave...may live...forever.
Did Smash send you a video of his weekend activities to impress you again Nexa?
Jesus. Is this what it looks like when I poke at Smash? If so, let me know, and I'll promise to never do it again. Quite sad indeed.
Did you read that thread by Kao about starting to post something, but deciding not to post it? Yeah, if you haven't read it, go read it. If you did, well... Go read it again.

I assume that's just a bit of footage from one of the fan faires.
OMG thanks for the laugh. Totem was absolutely right. We're a bunch of EQ nerds (accept that that's how the world sees us) laughing at some other nerds of a not very different type.
