Well, I am off for the morning. I am going to see what the parasite currently infesting my wife for the last 26 weeks looks like. It's odd, really. I felt the little it move for the first time last nite. Deconstucting feelings has always been a strong suit of mine. The ability to boil down to their basest level, and articulate in an elegant fashion my deepest and truest feelings has always been relatively easy. I am a poet for christ's sake. But here, now, in this situation, I find myself at a complete loss as to expressing the sheer wonder, amazement and terror of it all. Oh well, eventually, it will come to me. TTFN. (Oh, christ. It's started already. I am quoting Winnie the Pooh characters.)

Hats off. Being a parent to me is scarier than any war, any gun, anything period.

Heh. It's all fun and games until they become teenagers. That's when you wish they could be cryogenically frozen till their 25th birthday.

Hey, I've taught middle school english. Teenagers are certainly rebellious, but I've only met a few mutants. I like teens..they are so awkward and funny.

Actually, the teenage years is what I am looking forward to. I hope I can have as good a relationship with mine as my father had with me when I was a teen.

And since it will be force fed baseball from birth, then I will have someone to talk about the games with.

And smelly, Tare, don't forget smelly. I've subbed as a junior high school teacher and I always stand amazed more parents don't insist their kids use deoderant more often than the once-a-week touch-up they seem to get.

As for teenagers, I don't have a formula for success since my oldest is a pill, but my son (the one going to Hawaii for college) is a joy to have around. We raised them the same, but one is fun, the other is pure headache. Go figure.

It's simply amazing what a child can do to your very person. I've served in the Corps and seen the evil that man does and I always said to myself that I would never bring a child to this world.
Had a son who is now ten and I'm thankfull for the gift I was given. I would easily give my give my life for him, it's not about me anymore.

Congratutalions and may it be a boy that can carry the name, if it's a girl lock her up till she's 30...lol

Someone once asked, "What is the meaning of life? Why are we here?"

That person never held their own baby in their hands, much less was there for the birth... It becomes evident at that point.

Two teenagers now - 17-year old daughter, and 16-year old stepson. I'm surviving - not without trials, but I'm very proud of them both.

Congratulations - in a few months, your life will change like you can't begin to believe! Take him/her to LOTS of ball games - play catch - kick a soccer ball - above all - LISTEN to them... it makes all the difference (ESPECIALLY when they get to their teens...)

You 24 year olds are still prone to irrational actions and illogical thinking. Granted, you, Kao, are close to being a normal human being, but still are under suspicion until you blow out that 25th candle.

Now please sit on your hands and stay out of trouble.
