OK, maybe a dumb question. How do I put an avatar up?

Are you a premium member? If not, then you don't put one up.

I am a premium member, I think. No popups, paying the low rate of whatever it is ($3 a month?).

Ok then, see on the left of the screen? Click "Login/Admin...
"

Then click on "my files", find and upload your avatar images (up to 5) make sure they are 80 x 80 pixels. Then go to Login Admin again and there will be a drop down scroll box where you can choose your avatar.

Enjoy.

DUH! That's what I thought it was, but you had one under your name when you asked the question, so I figured I was wrong. Does it go back to all your posts and put the picture in????
That would be cool.

Yep. Adds the avatar retroactively.

Ok, my turn to ask a stupid avatar question. And yes, I know, tech support forum, blah blah, but this thread is already here soooo...

The only way I can get an avatar to work is by naming it avatar.jpg. So how can I have a list of them? Are there other names that would work? And how the hell are people getting .gifs to work? Gah!

You should just be able to upload the file from your user options: your files page, then be able to select it from the list on the main "your options" page. Is it giving you an error message?

Apparently the 'Threat of Kaolian' fixed it. It's fine now. No idea what I was doing before, maybe sleeping at the wheel.
