It has a been a long time I visited this site. For some reason, my brain and typing finger led me to FFXIAH, and I saw some folks that I used to play are still around. Therefore I decide to stop by here to see how things going.

I am not sure how much people still know me, but for people who do... I am still alive and kicking.
Anyway, cheers to all of you folks ;).

Hiya Ama, nice to hear from you and hope things are going well with you! It's a quiet forum around these Cerby parts, but I'm sure some of your old friends must check it from time to time and will see your post :)

I've been playing on and off over the last couple of years, and had a couple of kids in that time.. crazy days! Quite a few of friends who got me into FFXI in the first place have made recent comebacks to see what all the Abyssea/95+ madness is about, so it's nice having a few more Aussie crew on to join in the adventures.

Hope you're not working too hard Ama!

I have reactivated (haha) my character. Anyway, give me a wave or message if you do run into me. It just seems being level 75 puts me in a rather unusual position :).

You can reset your login just by confirming the correct personal information nowadays. One does not need to registration codes any more.

So far the game is reasonably interesting. It is definitely much easier to get experience points (even without Abyssea) - 15000 Besieged, 8000 Campaign Battles, and 5000/hour solo with FOV. Abyssea is a nutty place - while possible to get amazing experience points, but I think some post-Abyssea PT skill up is necessary.

I am quite happy outside of Abyssea. Sometimes I do find Abyssea quite broken myself... however, I do find it a fun place to explore around.

I just signed up with the new Blizzard promo. You sign up for one year of WOW and you get Diablo 3 for free, a exclusive mount and into the beta for the next expansion. If i knew it was that easy to get back into your FFXI account, I prolly would have.

I still see quite a few old school players around - I talked to Miszu, Jelly and Poombala the other day. My old LSes are still around as well.

And more things about the game since I returned... While exp is easier, I got myself killed more now than in the past (laugh). It is mostly because I am not being careful. Dying is fun. :P

I have not played WoW, so I cannot comment on it. I think as long as you are enjoying (WoW & FFXI) is good. One rule I made for myself is that I want to make sure my game is as much freedom as possible. Frankly speaking, more contents now are much more easier handleable with lower number of players. From so far what I have experienced... 640 kilobytes players ought to be enough.

Glad to hear you're having fun dying Ama :D Definitely things are easier, but as you've found it means you can attempt things with a smaller group which definitely makes going out just with a few friends possible rather than relying on an LS. Some stuff has become TOO easy (like nation missions, wow how disappointing!), but it's made other areas become a much more level playing field overall.

Add: Abyssea isn't broken.. just think of it as your god mode fun zone! It just gives you a taste and spoils you, but then you get back outside and curse you might need accuracy again, and don't have Apocolypse atma ;)

Once you get into Voidwatch you'll find some new challenges..

I do have quite a bit of fun in Abyssea region. Well, I cannot go Atma "God mode", so sometimes I got my butts handed down quite well. For the few Atmas that I do have (some Japanese friends bailed me out with Atmas...), it does let me do things that I cannot do in the past (like having summons out full time, and you can make them regen HP!).

I do think some of the NMs in Abyssea can be quite hard without the Atma buffs, so I bet the NMs inside were quite hard at one time.

As for Voidwatcher, I have not even tried them before. Nor I have even been in Walks of Echoes as well. There are quite a few "older" contents I have not finished as well (missions and new summons).

FF11 is a different place now. I do wish there be a revival of old areas.
