There's something to be said for removing one's self from tempation... Or not.
Hi, I'm Rayme, you may remember me from such years as 2004, 2005 and 2006! The last time I played FFXI was October of 2006. I thought about starting last year, but couldn't find my installation disks (I think my wife tossed 'em), so when I got new computer parts I didn't install it and thought "meh". Little did I know that the harmless FFXI Newsletter would be my downfall. Who needs disks when you can just download the game and all 4 expansions for $15?!?!
So anyway, I'm back. Dunno for how long, but I'm back. Funny thing is though, there are obviously a LOT of changes that have taken place, but I think the most stunning was the price of the scorpion harness. 50k?? When I left the V.Claw was 1,000,000+ and like most people in inflated economies, I was running around with pockets stuffed with Gil. Most of it worthless, but still there in quantity. Prices were actually part of the reason I left. It was so stressfull saving up for something and then a week later when you went to buy it, it had jumped by 50%.
Well now all that has passed and prices are much more managable, but the "trouble" is, when I came back, my pockets were still stuffed with Gil, only now it's worth a lot more! WooT!
This brings me to why I'm posting, since I've got some capital, I want to knuckle down and get a craft to 100. As weird as it sounds, leveling and crafting were the 2 things I missed th most. I had considered getting my Gold Smithing up to 100, but I'm just not sure how profitable it can/would be. So based on the current state of Cerberus's economy, enough capital to get a craft to 100, what would you do to make the most money once at 100?
Here are where my crafts currently are:
Woodworking: 62
Cooking: 60
Alchemy: 60
Clothcraft: 50
Bonecraft: 20
Leathercraft: 20
Smithing: 17
Goldsmithing: 13
Fishing: 37
Thanks for your help and I hope to see you online.
