Hello again Cerberus. I don't know if anyone will remember me but I played Mithra pain-in-the-**** Maiyah (DRK/BLM/THF/NIN). I moved to Ragnarok over a year ago without really saying anything to anyone.

While things over there were great (I got married, got into a great Dynashell and Skyshell) I found myself in a situation that caused me to drop my LS pearl (it may seem totally drama-llama to most people but I personally "had it up to here" with what went on)

I made a new character on this server Joshgrobn because I missed my home server and everyone in it (and to my older friends that quit: you suck :< ... <3)

And now I feel the urge to bring my character back. Unfortunately I have a great Dynamis LS and Sky LS (and I'm STILL trying to work for a Byakko's Haidate... /wrist)

Help me out Cerberus.... Should I do it? Am I missed enough to come back? ( go ahead and be honest. i wont be too offended, i promise. i've grown up since i've been on cerberus :P )

Despite my history with Cerberus, may it be good or bad, that server is, and always will be, my home. It's a great server, with fantastic people. Everyplace has their bad apples, but you just ignore them and move on with having fun. They always say you can't go home again, but I think they were wrong. Home is where the heart is and if your heart tells you to return home, then you should listen to it. Plus, who can really say no to a cute guy like Unrep?

Haha, I've known Unrep since I started playing. He and a few others (one in particular) bring back a ton of good memories. I'm happy at least those two great guys are still there. Without them Cerberus probably wouldn't feel like home anymore.

Snax, that's what you're called now? ;P Oh right, I remember now. Nevermind. /retarded

Just facing a huge dilemma... One of my real life friends is on Ragnarok. And if I leave Ragnarok I leave him. And I don't want to leave him, nor do I want to make him spend $25 just to be with me. /sigh

Supporty-ness? Isn't that what a bra is for? lolz Supporty-ness... My attempt at humor has failed _._

I really need to stay off of the absinthe. It makes me all happy and stuff. Actually, not being a Marine anymore makes me all happy and stuff, but the absinthe enhances my already happy mood ^^;

Btw, don't ever read
    A Murderer's Wine
by Baudelaire to your wife... lolz She didn't think it was funny :X

The following is not at attempt to derail this thread.

Because I have more time on my hands than I have ever had, I've made an honest attempt to watch complete series of anime. I watched 5 or 6 in the past month and stumbled across one that was an internet meme "Nice Boat". I found it a few days ago. I know that you watch - or used to anyway - watch anime and was wondering what you think about School Days.

That question is posed to teh meow meow btw. Meow. Teh meow meow that started this thread.

It's time for more absinthe. Have a nice day (night, morning, whatever) ^^;

D

Last Christmas we gave him a shiny piece of metal that we found on the side of the road. He also likes things that move. Shiny things that move, especially if they look like they might be fleeing, is the trifecta.

People come and go all the time for many reasons. The door of the game is always open as long SE keep the servers open. Most important is to have fun in a game ;)

Of course they are things I do not like in the game, but nothing is going to be perfect. I try to stick to my plan in how to get fun.

I have learned that end game is not everything. What I find is too much people get too deep into end game, and lost sight of what is going on. I have seen way too much people "disappear" because of having too much going on.

Do I do end game? Yes, but I limit my own commitment. Have I ever wanted a Byakko Haidate? Yes, and I never have one. But more important, I stick to my game plan.

I completed all my goals endgame related.

Killed all Gods except Kirin, and got all Dynamis clears except Xarcabard. Killed Serket(but that was more of a personal goal). After all that was done, I exited out of endgame.

My involvement with end0game is just Dynamis. I have always loved Dynamis, even if it ends in failure. Just being there is good enough.

However, missions are a thing that most seem to have put aside in favor of end-game events and merits. Sadly, those people are missing out on the true meat of this game. Gear is gear, it's not important.

I completed all my end game goals as well: cleared all Dynamis area, touched and killed a wyrm, and killed Odin. End game served as a major split to one my oldest chat LS. I am not going... to mention what happened, but there are people still around knew what happened.

It is mostly people and ... eh addiction keep me playing :P

A lot of old school best friends are gone now :( It is still good to be able talk to some of the old folks in various places however outside of FFXI (Elathia and Majorkusanagi). Fiercelink will pop into FFXI once a blue moon in odd times. Nebz really did go poof to nowhere, and he used to post here very often; last time I heard from him a few years when he still work in Vegas, I am not sure where he is now; but he certainly a victim of being too nice in game while have a lot of RL pressure with work, and not a lot people acknowledge that still played around his patience for achievements and gains in FFXI. Branwen quit very long time ago as well, mostly she is just too busy in RL.

I do meet some new people -- mostly people in Pies and Japanese friends. How people treat Nebz and end game goals around my old chat LSes certainly fueled a lot of my bad taste to end game and player behavior.

I wish I could remember even half of the people replying to this thread. Which I'm very happy of that people that I may have met but don't remember are replying. I'm happy that this thread has attained such a high rating. It makes me feel like I've grown up since I've started playing 4 (almost 5 D: holy ****) years ago.

I have a current impassible dilemma before me. My real life friend joined me on the game last year and I can't stand to leave him. I am on Cerberus again, but as my beginning 3rd character Joshgrobn (go ahead and make fun of me. I've gotten mixed responses for this character name. That and my skin is 10x thicker than it used to be.)

So for now, Maiyah will be staying on Ragnarok. But if you ever want to talk to me on Cerberus through tells or whatever... I'll be on Joshgrobn.

Thanks everyone for the support. You all make me very happy.
