Since I can't seem to bribe anymore bst into trying and killing the mob and getting drop in 24 hours, does anyone here have a pair I can buy? Maybe you know someone with a pair, I dunno.

What's so great about these shoes? they only do mediocre defense...

All monks quickly add this series of boots to their long term wishlist.
Kung Fu Shoes --> Wulong Shoes --> Dune Boots
1 Million gil --> 1.5 Mil ? --> Priceless ^^
I get bugged a lot in parties because people look at them and say "are you saving up for better shoes? All your other gear is so good".
For those that don't know, these have a hidden effect of enhancing kick attack. The best monk weapons are usually around +20dmg. The weakest boot starts at +20 and they get stronger from there.
Without these boots monk kicks land for about half the damage of their punches. With kung fu boots you hit on par with H2H using spartan cesti, and with Dunes you simply cringe when a critical hit kick lands, because you are now the tank ^^

Thank you Corrderio, I figured there was some sort of hidden effect, else I wouldn't have asked at all... so no, I wasn't kidding Thornn, and thank you for telling me of the hidden effect more in depth. :D

tainted, I can help? 53 smn/26 whm... astral flow can be pretty powerfull... and avatars take 1000 needles much bettaru than nebz... but I think I would still need help as that would be {Even Match}.

i wouldn't recommend going as 53 smn cuz cantactuar spams 1000 needles sometimes and you know the rest.

I fail to see the problem... you see, I'm not standing around watching the fight... I'm running my buttaru far enough away I can't see the HP on my pet or target the mob anymore... once my pet name disappears I recast while cactaur running. Avatar auto-attacks incoming cactaur and I then proceed to next safe spot to cast far away from battle. Only time I'd be near is if I had to use astral flow and blood pacts... in which case, I may get 1000 needles after first AF BP.

As for fighting in it the 50's, any extra bodies help to dilute needle damage. The only thing you need ot be careful of is the roaming army of liches in that area at night. Nothing like having flood or tornado cast on you from behind during an NM fight ^^

There is one problem with your strat, Krem. There is a LOT that will aggro anything pre-65 in that area. There is really no safe place to run while your avatar dukes it out with Cantautor (sp?).
I have grown to thoroughly hate this mob. I'm 0/3 on his drop and it took 4.5 hours to get him to spawn last time. *sigh*
