Bad JP?Follow

Well I had a first last night. I've been playing since teh NA release and I've yet to come across a JP I didn't like... I now have a party of em.

Here's how it happened...

My party and I are hanging in our level 28 EXP spot, the south bunker in Battila that leads to Eldime. We've been there for about an hour and another group shows up. Their members, for the most part, are wearing the base gear and their home-town rings. One member (their puller) has lots of +1 gear and is rank 9 Sandy. They start attacking gobs also. Our MNK says "(Excuse me) but this is kindof a one-party spot." (In the past if this spot's been taken we'd go find another bunker to camp, no big deal). Their reply: (English) (country) (leave). Lots of anti-english and anti-japaneese translator banter and some 'w's are passed between our parties. Soon one of their players disbands and warps home to Jeuno...

And then their puller comes back with 2 Evil Weapons. Their member returns at that time and rejoins. They fight for a moment and then zone, as if this wasn't obvious. My party hits the zone also. When I come to on the other side, their mage is running back up the stairs with a Lost Soul on his tail and zones the other way...

So, being creative, we zone back and forth a few times. None of us die (/hurray). Their high-level BLM/WHM friend takes out the weapons they'd pulled. By this time 3 or 4 of their members are dead. We go back to fighting and I put in a GM call. After a while the GM responds, I tell her the story. Since "the zoning" the JP party was quiet, the only thing they did was start having the whole group pull, making it kinda hard for us to get a gobbie. Our party hit 29 and we're starting to fight weapons more than gobs, so we move to our other camp near the bone-thing. Before too long, we notince that noone's pulling gobs. I did a quick /sea and see that none of that party is here anymore. So that group had only hung around about an hour after they zoned stuff on us. I didn't hear back from the GM.

So can anyone tell me, why would this group of JP show up, cause us a headache for about an hour, kill off THEIR party, and then only exp for one level at most? I mean, there's plenty of gobs there that two groups can do fine and if they were courteous about where they fought their gobs, we both could have camped in that bunker...

(/sigh)

Greetings my friend Tekkub been awhile.... but yes... I haven't experianced anything like this but i have noticed a bit increase in the anti-japanese, anit-NA players online... which to be honest...is truely sad... I've met my fair share... not lots but some... and I was honor'ed to party with them because they were very poliete... and i treated them just the same... but .... why do people do this? there is no reason or no cause for any of it...The head of my linkshell... the shell holder is NA but he's very fluient in japanese... and he's been called terms i dare not say just because he could speak japanese... and there's no reason for it ;;....My friend also told me that when the NA pc version came out everything was completely different.. the atmosphere, the friendships were all good... but the ps2 release has changed that.... and i'm sorry to say this(no offense to my friends of this) but its because of all the inmature 12 year olds who have come into our fun world... they think... omg he said "*****" is funny and stupid things like that... they are degrading our friendships and our fun....I could rant and rave but i wont.. but... that might be a strong cause of the now, not so good feelings between the japanese and NA players

You're right there was a general change in the atmosphere of the game after PS2 release...

I went to the dunes once cause I was bored, the people there now scare me... I sometimes wonder if at their, erm.. maturity level if they ever even get out of the dunes...

I'm looking forward to when school starts up again, because of this. I have Thursdays off, so it'll be nice to have a majority of more mature players on hand.

Hrm... perhaps (leave) is our equivilent of /check to them?

I just left Giddeuos where we were getting a key for a LS mate. We're campingin the far south area and a JP tell s us to (leave). I talked with him a tad in /tell and explained that we were key hunting. He offered his help, I declined. He asked me to let him have teh NM if it spawned, I told him I would tell my party and he was quite nice. Perhaps (leave) doesn't sound as harsh on the JP side of the translator? Maybe it's more of a (please leave)?

Yeah, Geo, quit using ellipsoidals or whatever they're called (the little ... things) every sentence, it makes you seem ignorant, which I know you aren't.

On topic, I've never had problems with JP. In fact, most of the problems I have had have been with other NA. These people are the ones that believe it is their right to tell others how to play their jobs, and most of the time, how to play them wrong. What amuses me even more is that these people very rarely play their job appropriately, but I won't go into that.
