Hello everyone who is on the Cerebus server. I have read many different forums here at this website, I like to read them it kills time while I'm at work(shhhhh)! Anyway the problem I have is with these know-it-all pukes that frequent the dunes. I know hopefully some day I'll get my lvl 12 whm out of there, god i'm trying but i just can't pick one job to stick with. Anyway I hope some of you people read this, you know the non-vokers, the mages who forgot what a cure spell is, the idiots who like to tell you that you have no idea what your doing even though they are lvl 20 with no sub or there sub is lvl 1. I had a person say to me after i told them to use voke a bit more please, me being a mage and all, they said "oh, voke, lol i have that!" I about threw my controller out the window! I am not the greatest ffxi player but i do have a bit of basic knowledge of the main jobs because i have lvled them all to 20, except for the 1 i'm working on now. Also does anyone have any of the title of this post, to not leave a party 5 mins after you lvl, and not say anything, or maybe if they could maybe not join the party and leave while we are fighting? Any of those who are guilty of the said offences and read this post, please look inside yourself to not do these things or at the very least, just play your game and let others play there game. Thank You for your time

Ok.

Here's a tip for you. Use paragraphs, they make it much easier for people to understand the message you're trying to convey. Do you see how much easier your post is to read when it's not some homogenous blob of text?

As far as common decency is concerned, you will find buttheads at every level of the game that disband in the middle of fights, who try to tell you what to do and how. Some of them will say "I've levelled all the jobs to at lease <insert arbitrary number here> so I know how to play!" It has been my experience that they don't.

There will come a point where there will be less idiots than there are now. You just have to get out of the dunes. Good luck.

That is just wrong to confront him/her on their writing. Who cares? Not everyone types the way you do. I understood the story with no complications.
Tsk.. Tsk.. I am pretty sure you have typed sloppy before too.

No offense and please do not "flame" me. I just read what you posted and it did not come out as being helpful.

Smiley: cookie for you and your competance in understanding his story. We had no problems either, just find it ironic that a thread titled "Common Decency" was not considerate enough to seperate things into paragraph form so others could read it better. Better is the key word, I don't think anyone said they COULDN'T read his post... we choose not to. If I view a thread that is 3 paragraphs all bunched into one block of text... forget it, I'll go do my work rather than waste time reading it.

I hope that paints a picture on how valuable paragraphs are. This is a messageboard, if you type like a n00b (roflomfgz I needz me sum gilz fer my rez's) or can't seperate your paragraphs, you should be ready to be called on it. Finally, consider this a flame if you'd like, and rate me down... I personally don't care. However, if the original poster is not offended when told to use paragraphs, wtf is your problem?

No problem here. ElvaanKrem.

I just thought that it was a bit crass to sit there and tell someone to type "better".

What is your problem?

and yes, I would love a cookie...Thanks

>.< wh00 h00... oh, and no problem here... might still be a lil tense after just walking in the door from work, but I've got Bubbles(tm) and FFXI to fix that. ^.~ My sarcasm can be easily misread in that previous post I can see... it lies in with truth and discrepancy... so its kinda hard to decifer which is which :\

So, you're calling me crass for my attempt at teaching the persont hat using paragraphs is generally considered common courtesy and grammatically correct?

I'm sorry, did I call him a noob or an idiot? no, I'll reserve that for you. I broke it up and answered the question. Shame on YOU for being so thickheaded you turn something into something it's not.

Shame on me? No thanks. My point is why correct someone? If they are swearing or "omgrolf" typing annoyingly ON PURPOSE, then yes, correct it.
Don't shame me because I have an opinion. No, you didn't call him noob, or idiot and that is GOOD!
But why sit there and try to tell someone to do something to get a better response? That doesn't make sense to me.
I am sorry if you thought I "BLEW" this out of proportion, it was not my intentions.

May there be Many Bright Blessings for you.....

Thanks..... :)

Why do we go to school from kindergarten (or first grade) to 12th grade of high school (for those that don't drop out) and possibly even college?

Answer: "Education" or to elaborate: Its so we can learn something.

I believe by correcting shortime on the paragraph usage will teach him/her to use paragraphs next time, and thus making their experience here at the boards a little more positive.

There, I answered non-sarcastically... now can you two find a new dead horse to beat already?
