Just a story about me returning to FFXIFollow

A few weeks ago I logged in to FFXI after almost a year of not playing. I stopped playing because I kinda lost interest in FFXI. The reason was that I screwed up in doing the Limit break II guest. Had a party with 1 other person who needed the limit break and several higher levels. We went to the Boreal Tiger, the tiger got killed I touched the ??? and ... nothing. I had forgotten to actually activate the quest. Didn't want to bother the people who helped me (I screwed up, not them) so I acted like I got a piece of Frigicite from the three NM's.

But FFXI never really got out of my head so in december 2007 I decided to log in again. I found out there was yet a new expansion (WOTG), I completely missed that. In the year I didn't play I also didn't look at any FFXI related website.
I ordered the expansion, got it and love it, especially because I've always been a casual player.

After two weeks I decided to hang out in Xarcabard (I had activated the Limit break quest prior to stopping). I outpost warped there and went to the Boreal Tiger cave. I really hadn't high hopes on getting the Frigicites but who knows.
I arrived at the cave there was a Japanese party getting ready. I was thinking of asking them if I could join when I got a tell from one of them: {Limit}{Break}{Do you need it?}. Me: {Yes, please}.

So thats how I got my Limit break II after all.

Before stopping I was also doing the (RDM) artifact quests. I already got the sword and Warlock Boots. After the years break I wanted to get the Warlock Gloves. At level 57 I went to Eldieme Necropolis to kill Tomb Mages and Warriors with the help of my Fellowship Friend. I found out (the hard way) I was still just too low level to fight them (somewhat) safely. So I leveled to 58 in Campaign.

I went back and after fighting 10 Tomb Mages/Warriors the key dropped...joy.
Now I had to find a coffer, I decided to camp in the part you get to through Beaucedine Glacier. I fought some Utukku's there (with the help of my fellowship Friend, I wouldn't take the risk of getting KO'd) to kill some time. But no coffer spawn, got a chest key of a Utukku and got 5k from the chest that also spawns near the Coffer. I decided to log in once in a while to look for the coffer. The next day I logged in and there it was, the coffer.

Great, now I had to find a way to kill Dark Spark. I just went to the Castle Zvahl Baileys, used a reraise scroll and got aggro'd by a demon. Killed the demon, another demon who also aggro'd me was killed by a Japanese BST. After that I optimistically started to fight the Dark Spark (again with the help of my Fellowship Friend), the BST lvl 75 was cheering me on. But I didn't do very well and the fact that my computer began to lag badly didn't help either. So I got killed. The Japanese BST finished my fight (while I reraised) and killed Dark Spark. Unfortunally I couldn't get the "shadow flames". The Japanese BST invited me to a party and we started the fight again, now I had more luck and got me my my Warlock Gloves.

I'm now in the process of getting my Warlock Tights, already got my key from a Fallen Major (second kill) and again with the help of my Fellowship Friend.

Currently I'm trying to get the coffer, been camping behind Banishing Gate #3 (thank you WOTG) but no luck so far.

Two things I learned after returning:

1. Japanese people are people too :-)
2. A Fellowship Friend is really usefull.

I've never had problems with JP. Just wtf over the, "Wow this JP just helped me they are people too!", suprise. I meet more English speakers that will screw you over in a heartbeat then JP.

Have you found the coffer yet?

If you havn't by tomorrow give me a /tell ingame and I'll come lend a hand if I'm free at the time.

Good news, I've found my coffer (and my warlock tights). In the past couple of days I only logged in occasionally to look a couple of minutes for the coffer, I maybe logged in 4 or 5 times.
And just a half hour ago I logged in walked to the spot near gate #3 and there it was, the coffer. Got me my tights, aggro'd the Wraith near the coffer and warped away

Some put JP Party only because they rather not sit wondering what is being said. Not all some have a bad stigma with NA players.
