Ok this is my way to kill some time because i didn't think the update was until 8 P.M. not A.M. Doh. I made this guide for 2 reasons, 1, everyone knows about it, its on allakhazam so everyone whos seen the BCNM section has seen this, and 2, its a good way for quick money or a expensive item you need.

BCNM 40 Royal Jelly

What is a BCNM?
A BCNM (Burning Circle Notorious Monster) is a battle you fight under a level cap, it involves monsters that are very hard. Sometimes the BCNM fight is timed, like in this case, the Jellies move very slowly toward the center of a circle arena, thats basically your time limit if you want to win easily.

What are the requirements to enter this BCNM?
You MUST be level 40, I say MUST because any lower and you're only making it harder on yourself. You also have to get a Star Orb from Shami in Port Jueno (H-8) by trading him 40 Beastmen's Seals.

How should I get prepared?
I went as a SAM/WAR, i brought 3 Hi-Potions, it's always good to have a few when doing a BCNM, the reason being is because you dont want to lose out on a really expensive drop because you were 30 hp away from winning :(. If your a RDM, (which I heard is a must, but i doubt it) then you should be bringing a few yagudo drinks, because you won't have refresh.

The Battle Plan
The ideal job setup is:
I don't care who you are or if your part asian or not, the object of this BCNM is to kill or slow them down as fast as humanly possible. For my setup i took SAM,DRG,RDM. This setup worked perfectly, the first time we got a little scared they would pull out a Thundaga II or something, so we used a few hi-potions. This isn't needed unless of course you have a crappy mage.

And no, these Princess Jellys only cast tier 1 magic meaning Stone, Thunder, etc. They like to cast rasp and drown also.

When you enter, have the RDM buff you up with Protect II and Shell II, have him cast Phalanx, Stoneskin, Protect, Shell, etc on him, all the good stuff, then he uses a Yagudo drink and rests for 3-4.5 minutes (considering you would rather win right now not try for a record). Please time this, start this at say intervals of 15, such as 3:15. After the RDM has healed for so long, RDM go in first, on the far end of the circle, BIND and GRAVITY the 2 END jellies, the DD's split up and work their way around unless you see a jelly nearing the center.

DD#1: Work on the left side, kill all the jellies ASAP, if you start a jelly, finish it, don't switch targets.
DD#2: Depending on job, this job should kill all the jellys that are closest to the center.
RDM: Gravity+Bind the **** out of them, if you see one moving make sure it isn't moving for long. (Do not bind or gravity a jelly a melee is fighting unless it's close to the middle, its a waste).

I loved this illustration FrostTrunks posted.

This strategy worked for us everytime, we even went in pretty much clueless and still won, not only is this BCNM easy, it drops Utsusemi: Ni and Erase scroll, both sell for 500-650k on our server.

If you fail to kill the jellies before they reach the center, they will turn into Queen Jelly which is very hard depending on how many jellies made it to the center.

After the fight
Make sure you don't have rasp or anything on that will kill you, because if you manage to win this, chances are your gonna have low MP and HP in the red when you're done.
One thing I want to point out, you will be tossed on the other side of the BCNM, you have to go through Palborough Mines again to reach it for a 2nd run.
A few days ago i lost Erase along with a couple other items will decent value due to this, we zoned too fast and the last guy didn't even get the items.

The Drops
Buzzard Tuck
De Sainte's Axe
Dusky Staff
Gold Beastcoin
Grudge Sword
Himmel Stock
Mana Ring
Mannequin Hands
Marksman's Ring
Scroll: Air Spirit Pact
Scroll: Erase
Scroll: Fire Spirit Pact
Scroll: Ice Spikes
Scroll: Phalanx
Scroll: Refresh
Scroll: Utsusemi: Ni
Sealed Mace
Shikar Bow
Steel Ingot
Steel Sheet

Ok, hope you liked my first guide and it helped you people needing money and wanting to do a BCNM..

Open for critizism, or any details i might have left out.

Great post, very helpful animation. I'm leveling my RDM at the moment (currently 37), and have been looking forward to finally being able to do BCNM 40s. Had my eye on this one in particular, since it naturally seems ideal for RDMs.

Now I just gotta get those levels and find me some DDs.
~40RDM on Carbuncle.

I would like to add something. This is similar to the way I have done it in the past and I have a word of warning for the RDM. Becareful if you are going to use convert. Be sure none of the mobs are casting a spell on you at the moment and that you don't have drown on. This has happened twice to the RDM that went along with me, but luck for us I was a DRG/RDM with alot of soloing experience so I was able to keep me and the other DD alive to win the BCNM.
server: Carbuncle

A bad dragoon spends days in jeuno waiting for a party to get exp. where a good dragoon sits in jeuno deciding where to go and solo for exp.

I don't think Convert is needed, i wasnt exactly keeping an eye on our rdm, but all he did was buff, heal to full, use a Yagudo Drink, run in and do his thing binding and gravitying the jellies. worked well for us. I guess if you want to go the no items, all profit way, you can have your RDM try his luck with a convert.

In the pass, the best setup for this was rng, rng, rdm.

Reason for rng is shadowbind... it last longer than regular bind and since its coming from a DD, it makes the rdm's life easier. Also rng does great damage (still not finished d/ling the patch so please consider this history and not present) so they can kill as fast as anyother DD for this.

Sam/thf is also very good at this but the only element missing is shadowbind (the extra 10-20 second it holds a mob can help if the rdm get resisted for some reason) which isnt required to win, it just makes it slightly easier to win.

I wouldn't try it, timing is down to the seconds...PLD won't exactly deal amazing damage.

Just an idea: Dark Knight / Red Mage. Self-sustaining DD with the ability to bind as well... If anyone tries this, please let me know how it turns out.

I did this BCNM 15 times one day (200 seals a person, 3 people) as RNG/RNG/WHM and it was ridiculously easy. Shadowbind wasn't necessary, our WHM was gleefully playing with her erase (got it as part of doing this BCNM ^^) like crazy, just for fun. No food or drink were required, but both RNGs ate food just to see the numbers get larger. ^^ I'd go with WAR sub for the RNGs as you won't be getting hit with melee attacks and a single mage can easily keep up with the magic damage.

NOTE: I have not tried this since the changes to ranged attack change and it might be a little tougher now this way. I'm guessing you would have to move around a little more to get the right jellies in the right sweet spot. Being bound can really suck, so I'd actually recommend a WHM.
