And anyone else on this board I might have played FFXI with a long time ago. What server is everyone going on to for FFXIV? I'm currently thinking about Wutai or Figaro. It's a shame Siddius got my account banned or I could come chat it up with you guys on FFXI.

I'm in Cornelia on the Beta, but will most likely move to Figaro when it is released.

If I don't cancel my pre-order that is. I know the Beta is "unfinished", but boy does the gameplay ever suck.

Omgea you have to remember though that in the beta we are just really stressing the servers. They don't have any side quests in now and to be realistic only 10-20% of the content. The devolopers said only 10% of the content would be available in an interview a while back. Also a lot of the UI lag has to do with them running debugging things in the background on the server.

I have game preordered, but havent figured out a server, is there a certain reason you guys have picked those particular servers? Either way, if any of us want to group up, we need to get the ball rolling on this and get a server posted for all of us that want to play together. Im down for whatever.

I heard some people from Exile were going to play ff14 on Lindblum. Lindblum also seems to be one of the more popular servers

Why do u want to go to a 'popular' server? Dont we wanna be on one with the least people.

in ff14 there won't be HNM camping like there was in ffxi so being on a low populated server isn't exactly an advantage. The only issue is if queues were to form but that was never a problem for me.

Well we got about 48hrs to decide on a server... Only mentioned Exile because Toneedo still has my AIM and hit me up. Lindblum seems to be the most popular server over at the ffxixcore forums. From what I've read it seems Figaro was one of the servers "claimed" by the Japanese. One theory people had was people who played FFXI were going to join the Selbina server (new server added to the list)... I'm down for whatever server though

Can't say I've decided on a particular server yet. I wish I was more help about contacting people but my hard drive died a year ago and along with it went the list of emails and stuff I had. Never had a reason to use one while I was still playing so I hadn't entered them in my email address book yet, just had it in a word file. Now that I've been screwed over twice now from hard drive failures I finally got an external to back stuff up to lol. Too bad I was a little slow on the uptake. I tried awhile ago to see if I could log onto pol to see if I could msg people but for some reason I can't get past one of the pol updates. bah

I think I recall seeing Shadowrunner post on bg forums in the past if you want to try a pm on there, Hightone. Dunno about the rest.

I'm dubious about Figaro though. If anything I'd say that's the #1 server to stay away from. I've seen posts on multiple forums saying the goon squad from something awful plans to go there and from my experience in other games they are people to stay clear of. They're absolutely obnoxious and post all kinds of stupid crap all over forums.

And Toneedo... haha. memories. If that joker elvaan says anything else I'd appreciate an update :)

Hey, Auren! I saw that as well about the Goon Squad but the only posts I found were one here which got its source from an eorzeapedia post. Either way I don't think it'll be that much of a pain, we had to deal with Darkenbuddy and his crew on Caitsith ffs lol. I've met a lot of really cool people on Figaro over the course of beta and have 10 or so friends from Caitsith joining me so I'm sure it'll be a blast either way, in a couple of months there will be enough people oblivious to jp/na server populations joining the game that I don't think it will matter. Everyone just seemed so hesitant on what server to go to that we could call a "Caitsith server" that I just threw a name out there of the server I was on, really hoping to see some of you guys over there tomorrow!

I think I've decided on Rabanastre for my crew. Anyone that's ran with me in the past is welcome to come along for the ride.

The Goons have their own forum, at SA.com. As for the griefing; ya, I can see how you might find it annoying. However, from the other side, it is absolutely hysterical to watch people who take the game way to seriously freak out when you claim their bunny.

Hobo, Auren, Hightone, and Omega. Nice to see alot of old players XD

I was all hyped up for FF XIV but after trying beta I decided I wasn't gonna play until I got a new PC. Currently using a gaming laptop that's only about a year old with decent specs but intro videos took forever to load and game-play lagged horribly.

I'll still be on FFXI for another year or so until they exhaust all the new content.

Well, if you wanted to try, I can let you try the buddy pass that came with my game if you want. It runs MUCH smoother in retail than it did in beta. It ran kinda choppy during the beta for me but it plays perfect for me now. Don't have to upgrade my graphics card after all /o/ You'd have to torrent the game or something though.

I actually think it's better than FFXI, solo wise. Even though I talked to Sean & Shadows on Sunday, I'm in Ul'Dah & they're not so I'm still LS-less. Granted, I've been doing quite a bit of crafting (Gathering all the materials for my first PUG weapon upgrade has been a challenge!) so my physical level (15) is quite a bit higher than my class level (9) so I think that probably makes soloing easier.

The only challenge I've had leve wise (besides failing some synths) is when you have to fight multiple mobs & the delay to target is such that I get raped.

But since death doesn't end the leve, its easy enough to march right back & finish it.

Now if I could only find a reliable source of wind shards for crafting... Ul'Dah is wind shard retarded.

9 PUG, 9 Goldsmith, 9 Leather, 7 Blacksmith, 6 Marauder, 5 Alchemy, & 4 Miner atm with a physical level of 15. Got most of the camp teleports around Ul"dah too if anyone needs to piggy back on my teleports. Some of those walks are long & aggro filled.

You can unlock (C) while your current mob is busy dying and then will be allowed to target and attack your next mob. :)
