Anyone want to play on the same FFXIV server?Follow

What the title says! Me and my linkshell (Aenima) are going to be starting up at release, been playing beta 2 and 3 and I'm already hooked. So anyone want to get on the same server and share some adventures at release like the good old Caitsith days?

Me and 2 other ls mates got into open beta tonight so we decided on the Figaro server. Guess that's where I'll be for release as well.

Hey it's Hobo... if anyone remembers me. I pre ordered FF14 and was in closed beta for a little bit... now in open beta on the Wutai server.

I created a guy on melmond, but I am on my laptop and its lagging super bad.
I am always in the yellow and my S is only like 25

I've been playing since closed beta and the UI has been really laggy. I don't know if that's because they are running some debug code in the background of the server or what. What you're playing in open beta right now is about 20% of the world content but about 85-90% of the interface.

Poochie and myself will play on the same server as some of the old timers..

Figaro is looking extremely crowded very quickly from what Im reading on FF14 forums, u sure you guys dont wanna select a different one?

All servers look about the same as far as crowding goes from the server select menu. I'm all created and in! Patching only took about 15mins I was surprised. Just come join us already Hightone lol

no AH and the chat system is useless.

From my understanding they designed it to not have a AH, you are required to craft everything since vendors only really sell level 1 stuff. They have rooms dedicated to retainers(basically mules) and there are like 50 of them in a tiny room and you have to look through them all to find stuff, since there is no AH you have no clue what a good price is. You almost have to write down what you see and check through everyone.. For example I was looking for a ring yesterday, one guy had it for 3k the guy next to him had it for 9k..

There is no quick reply so if someone sends you a tell you have to type /t long ass name and then the message every time.

And I dont think there is a way to invite people unless you can see them directly.

None of the old search commands work either..


Yet its still a pretty fun game, leveling takes forever though.. Its reminds me of soloing to 20 back in the day before exp rings and stuff..
I pretty much duoed with a friend ALL day yesterday and went from physical level 11 to physical level 13 and gained two levels on my job.

XI didn't start with an AH, and they've pretty much said that they'll do an AH (or something like it) eventually, though until they make changes fixing the retainer system the system as it stands now is pretty much useless.

As for the one-shotting mobs issue, you must've been in Gridania. Lots of complaints about Lone Wolf placement. I'd done a few rank 10 leves in both Ul'dah and Limsa (in OB) and hadn't had the same sort of issues. While yes you'd go past very-red mobs, you weren't having to fight right in the middle of them or be forced to go through them (open terrain and mobs that wander around more). Haven't been able to tell if Gridania's fixed yet, sounds like they've modified wolf placement and replaced a number with yarzon, but sounds like you can run into cases where you'll be near both or something. :\

Interesting... hadn't run across that in my own leves, but good to know to be careful in the other cities. :)

No, there's really no healer class. Everyone (or many jobs, anyway) has their own healing, and each DoM has some form of healing, but there's not really a quasi-WHM available to be played at this point (and I know some people really like healing people, of my time spent leveling my RDM subs, I really did like leveling WHM).

Sassy I believe I remember you from like... 5-6 years ago? Around when FFXI was first released. Ranger I believe right? Or maybe I'm thinking of someone else -_- either way we'd love to have you join our linkshell community on Figaro.
