Be careful out there folks. If you have an NM and anyone from Overkill LS shows up, take your time and an extra bit of caution and be sure to pull it away from them.

If it turns yellow even for just a moment, regardless of you standing there, they will steal it. Yaya, if it goes yellow... we all know better. Or I should say most of us do.

In my years of playing this game I have seen shells steal countless NMs, but most were at least something decent. This was a pop seal NM of all things.

So Shyrul, Spaghetticloak, Dipu and the rest of the kiddies over there at Overkill, I seriously hope it was worth it to you to completely trash your credibility not just as players but also your LS ... over a lousy seal NM.

Real class act you guys got going on there. Karma is a funny thing.

So remember the name Overkill and that Yellow pearl. You'll be glad you did.

Sorry, we're not recruiting right now.

edit: What I really should say is, why don't you tell the whole story?

1. If you're going to attempt to trash our LS on alla of all places, at least do some research first. Go ahead and FFXI AH search for "Shyrul" and "Dipu" and see what you find. At least do us the common courtesy of getting the names right in your lolrant. Or are you just illiterate in the first place?

2. I wasn't there but as I understand it your NIN and BLM were dead. Your whm was about to drop and when it turned yellow, "Shyrul and Dipu" went in for the claim. It seems to me that your lolwhm should be thanking us for saving you 5 min of weakness time. How you wipe to pascerpot in the first place is completely beyond my comprehension.

3. Don't cry about mob stealing, it shameful. Either you can hold and kill a mob or you can't. Don't blame us for your incompetence.

Finally, nobody in our shell gives a damn about 'server reputation'. We don't play this game because we want everyone else to think we're cool, we leave that to people like you. You want to curse and revile the OverkillLS name, you go right ahead. We'll be in game getting business done.

Have a nice day. :D

EDIT: It's hard for me to be harsh here because i feel a common kinship for someone else who has gone 0/XXX on Up in Arms but you've left me no choice but to back my boys. Come on man...

I did tell the whole story, and I didn't edit my post to do it.

Meh, close enough. The players in this shell are of no concern to me it is the shell that people need to be concerned with. When they see the shell, they can take the necessary precautions to prevent the steal and that is my main goal here. They can draw their own conclusions about the players. At least I got it right where it counts, improving my game experience one /blist at a time. They have been erased.

srsly wtf, stealing a 1,000 gil trigger pop NM...loloverkillLS

No, no you weren't...were you?

ArgusDubbs wrote:

No, no I wasn't. Your shell mate lied to you
(ya, I know, hard to fathom).

I was standing right there. I had died shortly before but had reraised(Atma of the Apocalypse) , recast shadows and was mid cast Hojo when it was voked. We were fighting it very close to and I was standing between it and the pop spot and it made little progress to returning to the pop spot with the sliver of life that it had leftwhen it was stolen.

Thank you for supporting my original post. I think it's pretty clear now. Fame without honor is like peanut butter without jelly...kinda pasty. Just ask Minidragon.

#5REDACTED, Posted: Mar 02 2011 at 10:16 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Actually, no you didn't. All you mentioned was that they took a yellow mob, nothing specific about the situation. The rest of your post is just rambling and vague statements about the maturity of our shellmates.

I apologize, you are absolutely right that I totally missed the point (i am not being facetious, i was mistaken.)

Let me clarify:

REGARDLESS of the circumstance - your mob turned yellow. Some people may or may not have been killed/dead/etc - this is irrelevant.

Mob is yellow - mob is fair game. These are the rules of the game.

Are we discourteous for taking it and not giving you every single possible opportunity to succeed? Likely. That's your opinion and I'm sure there are those out there who agree.

All in all, let me see if I understand your post now.

What you're saying is:

"Attention FFXI population: If you suck so bad at the game that you can't keep a mob red for the duration of the fight - WATCH OUT! Better players (including but not limited to OverkillLS) may take it from you. The appropriate course of action is then to come here and beg for sympathy in the guise of 'warning' others."

That about right? Cool story bro! =)

As someone else who WAS there, I saw the mob go yellow, both of you were dead, and we claimed the mob. It wasn't until we started to fight it, when I noticed you were up.

At that point the RDM was still down and you were weakend. Then you started to ask why we took it when you were up, as the RDM rereaised. In reallity I'm not sure how well you could have fought it being weekend and all.

This is like the arguement from back in the day when someone would pull half the zone to farm and someone would take the yellow adds. And then the guy would come out here and complain about people taking "his" mobs. When a mob is yellow it's free game. We made a judgement call just like you would/have.

And to quote you, "over a lousy seals mob". If it was such a "lousy seals mob" what the hell are you doing out here whining about someone taking a yellow mob? Just as Brev said, you could have farmed up another pop item and then tried to beat us to the pop. Just like EVERY OTHER LS out there does.

This is a stupid arguement....

I'm assuming that you're alluding to the idea that the NM is worthless, and not the shell. Your statement would have had more zing had it been the later. It appears the bar is set just a bit high for you yet.

D-

You stated you're trying to warn others. What a great service you do for the sake of everyone! Would you hurry up and fall on that sword of yours, for us all, as THAT would be the GREATER service to the community.

Furthermore, -10 for the name drop. You never knew minidragon.

Raise, I agree with you. I even asked my ls mates how they viewed this situation. We agree, stealing NM's-especially ones from a pop item-is wrong. They can try to justify it all they want, but it will never make it right.

They are a bunch of arrogant clowns that will never see the voice of reason. You got your point across. Good on you!

I still fail to understand how it's stealing if the group wipes.

If we're supposed to let you reraise and try again, then where is the line drawn? How many times do you have to wipe before we get the chance to just finish the job? Three times? Five times?

But no, even though this will happen anywhere in the game with any given NM, for some reason this time it was unacceptable.

Yeah, we're ******** though. We're such big ******** that we let a sackholder from Shade's LS tag along with our shell on a Grauberg run so he could get his Raja clear. What a **** move.

I don't know the situation because I wasn't there, but I would like to add. As a ninja, I often die in the fight of a NM and we are generaly doing low man stuff so the PT need me fast. In 10 seconds, I have time to reraise, 2hour, reraise and Im back in tanking mode.

Don't know if this expression exist in english but in french we say. "Toujours donner la chance au coureur". or "Always give the chance to the runner".

RiaseIII man, I wish it wasn't that way, but you always have to expect the worse out of the general public. If it wasn't these guys, it'd be some others. Just do what I do, get incredibly jaded and seclude yourself from any outside contact. Then once every few years, go back out and see if anything changed... Once you see it hasn't, return to your lair. Trust me though, accomplishing stuff solo without using a bunch of people to further your personal gains is much much more fulfilling.
