Conquest Rankings?Follow

#1 Nov 03 2008 at 8:22 AM Rating: Decent
This week Windurst ranks second and Bastok third in Conquest. Why is this?

They hold the same number of regions.
Windurst: Sarutabaruta, Kolshushu, Qufim, Tu'Lia, and Fauregandi
Bastok: Gustaberg, Zulkheim, Tavnazian Archipelago, Li'Telor, and Elshimo Uplands

I asked my friends, and they see it too. So it doesn't seem to be a problem on my end.

Why wouldn't they be tied for second?

My first guess is it's an accumulation of all the influence those nations hold.

For example, have you ever gone into a zone and saw something like;

"The Beastmen are on the rise!"

or

"San'd Oria influence Major
Bastok influence Minor"

Well, I'm willing to bet conquest doesn't work just by how many regions are under your control, but also by your influence in the regions not under your control as well.

I had never considered influences in the other regions before. I've seen those influence updates, but I never thought they would mean something beyond who gets it at the end of the week. It would certainly explain the situation.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Sadly Bastok no longer have the fame of being last. Sandy is the one that very rarely gets out of 3rd place nonadays, this week conquest is the exception.
