My first experiences with you when its comes to Promathia Missions were odd to say the least. At the time I didn’t even own CoP and I was level 40-50 something BLM.
Johnb: PM2-5 {Do you need it?}
Qinnydar: {Huh?!} {I don’t understand}
/wait 2 minutes
Qinnydar: What are you talking about? Please explain.
End of that converstation.. a few days to a week later
Johnb: /shout Jeuno PM2-5 {Help me out!} {Riverine Site A01}
Johnb: PM2-5 {Do you need it?}
Qinnydar: I’m sorry I don’t have CoP.
Now, weeks go by, I get CoP I level up and I end up getting a few more tells from you along the way asking PM {Do you need it?} and I tell you I don’t have acesss yet, etc. etc. Everytime I would ask you to go into some detail you would never ever reply back.
Months go by and BAMN! I’m up to PM4-2, I get some tells from you since u must have been searching the Zones etc. You’re on PM5-3 at this point.
Soon, I get to PM5-2 Vhazl, and you’re constantly sending me and Nightsintodream tells asking us to help with PM5-3. We both say “We’ll see, we have our own static(s) you know and we’re full.â€
At this point we are all like “How the hell can this guy get this far and still not have any form of a static and result to pickup parties and begging?†We assumed by the massive amount of your repetitive annoying tells that you had pissed off your former static to the point they left/kicked you.
Anyway, my group gets to PM5-3 and we complete it. Johnb once you found out we got it done you freaked on us all and some tells you sent me were like…
“You promised me you guys would do Boneyard Gulley with me!â€
“How could to lie to me?â€
“Qinnydar you LIED TO MEâ€
“Have your group come help me now!â€
You tried to make me feel terrible and I did, even though everything you said was a lie b/c I never promised you anything, other than “we’ll see†You kept trying to corner me into promising to take you along. In fact right before we did Boneyard Gulley I did /sea all Johnb and you we not online. Tough **** I thought, at least I tried. You manipulated me to the point I felt bad for you and I did. I know all you wanted to do was progress like the rest of us through the storyline. Hell you even made Vimien feel bad and sympathetic towards you, and this Johnb is quite something, Vimien is not one to take or put up with other peoples BS at all.
I went even as far as to seek out and refer your name to others that I know had progressed on to PM5-2 and needed an extra. Anyway, I guess the thought of you having to go back and help someone for your cause was not good enough for you so you did not form up with these people (to my knowledge).
Over the course of weeks my group gets to PM6-4 and we attempt it 9 times over a few weeks and eventually beat it. In the time you miraculously get PM5-3 done after we (my static) beat PM6-4 and got {sea} that night. Once again I get extremely IGNORANT tells from you saying that my group should go back and help you get through the Omega/Ultima fight…..I asked my group and well all had a good laugh that you had enough balls to be soo demanding to us. This is after you told Akir off b/c we failed Omega/Ultima and you said we would never win with a PLD tank. Heh, is all I have to say to that. Persistence pays off, this you should know all to well. Anyway, I was blasted with your tells again and your spaming trying to make me feel bad and I think you called me a liar again over some promise that I was not aware that I made. … If I was talking to you beforehand it was to encourage you, I’m not gonna take your hand and walk you through it. You have zero people skills so you must have taken this as me and my static promising to help you in some way. You pissed me off to the point that I blacklisted you.
I should have left you on my blacklist for good, but something, for some reason I felt bad about it. After a week I took you off and asked you how you were doing with PM’s. I was once again sympathetic as you yearned for {sea}. What a mistake.
I get /tells from you once again
Johnb: qinnydar, PM6-4 {help me out!} now!
Qinnydar: I can’t, I’m in an XP pt.
…..I just ignored any tells after that.
By some miracle you beat PM6-4, how this came to be I dunno. I found this out b/c you had again started sending me /tells a week later.
Johnb: qinnydar, PM7-5 plz come help!
Qinnydar: Wow. You made it to 7-5 already!
Johb: yeah, now come help me plz.

Well at this point it was starting to get late at night, but I was like oh hell, PM7-5 is a very fun and easy fight and this guy will get {sea} right after and that will be the end of it. In the meantime, people from my LS are like NO DO NOT HELP HIM, HE’s SUCH AN ******* AND IS USES EVERYONE. I said ***** it, I will help but this is it.
Well an hour and a half later, we beat PM7-5 and you get {sea}. I said {Congratulations!} to you and you never once responded, which at the time was no problem cuz it was late and I had to get to bed and figured u must have been stunned at the scenery of Al’Taeiu.
Days go by and not once do you say thanks or are the least bit appreciative….I just thought yeah, you’re a complete ******* who is only there for his own personal gain (which is true by the way).
At this point my group is on PM8-3 and have been for sometime. Somehow Johnb, you AMAZINGLY catch up to us! You got all your lights and everything needed for the PM8-3 BC fight where my group has been stuck on for a month (just the end of PM8-3, the lights and such were a difficult task but was long time ago). Our whole group was shocked. Vimien and I both brought it up the group that if we need an extra we’ll take you, we thought we might have been short one member… Anyway, everyone showed and the group all 6 of us were beating PM8-3 and PM8-4 and we were not in any shape to do it twice just for you. Vimien made this especially clear to you.
However, once again, I felt bad that we couldn’t take you along….(I’m a sap ; ;), I knew this so I avoided you at all costs, especially when you followed us up to the BC area.
I guess before we did the BC you sent Akir a few tells saying there was no way we were gonna win because we had a DRG (Tres). Well guess what? Tres is one of the best people I know on Bismarck and he’s one hell of a DRG and not only that HE’S OUR FRIEND (I don’t think you have grasped the concept of comradery and friendship). There was no way in hell we were dropping Tres (part of our static all the way along) for you.
When we beat PM8-3 and were outside in Alâ€Taeiu you were in tells with Vimien saying he betrayed you. And you openly /slapped him in front of us all. It’s a good thing Vim is a bigger man than I, if it was me I would have invited you and then made sure we wiped somewhere only to leave you behind and /laugh at your rotting carcass.
Meanwhile we all went to Emperyal Paradox where we began to fight the final and most amazing BC of CoP and you were constant /telling me and everyone in my PT for that matter. Once again you laid the phrase “You lied to me!†on me and “Why couldn’t you drop Tres for me?†…. I didn’t respond and was too busy to B-list u.
Ultimately Johnb, I’m glad we did not take you along for the most amazing adventure in Final Fantasy 11. You are not worthy of such companionship as you make no attempts (or are very very bad) at forming a friendship. You are by far the most distasteful character I ever met in my online gaming career. You do nothing but attempt to use others for you own personal gain and show absolutely no gratitude whatsoever. I regret helping you on anything, I regret taking you off my blacklist. Rest assured that when I log on tonight, you’re name will be on my blacklist permanently.

You sir, have put into words what ive been too polite to say for almost a year, my hat's off to you. And I do understand, my set brokeup in an incident related to him. Due to guilt from his constant tells, half of my set caved and helped him past 6-4, and shortly thereafter broke up. So i'm idle myself at ultima.

I usually don't respond to stuff like this...but man did johnb harrass my set party ALL THE TIME. I found the best way to deal with it is to reply in the ********* way possible. I myself just spoke to him in spanish, calling him a pretty girl and calling him my sweetheart. That seemed to work well. We honestly just had fun with the constant harrassment and acted like jackasses towards him. :d
I think my favorite part was when he tried to make me apologize on this linkshell we both have a pearl to. My response was "PM8-4 {Help me out!}", when he was still on 5-3.
Oh yea, even some of the japanese players make fun of him for this crap.

Rather than explain it to him for the 100th time, I just told him that most people in AD cant stand him so stop asking for help and go make some friends.

I do not bother will people if they say they do not have CoP,are on a different mission than me, or if they don't even know what this mission is. That's a sign that they can't help so i just don't respond.

I was frustrated on PM7-5 since I wanted it eagerly done that day. I could not get a BLM at ALL. So yes I was desperate. I took me over 3 hours of asking people to get one, which was you Qinnydar.. You logged off very early after we did it. I was still even in cutscene when you logged off. I didn't have time to thank you, sorry. I must have forgot about thanking you because i went on vacation the next day for a week. I DO thank almost everybody in PT every PM but sometimes I forget to do so like anybody else would.
What happened on PM8-3 was that you gave me a /tell 3 days earlier telling me, "yeah you would probably get in, just give Akir or Vimien a /tell on Monday". You FAILED to mention about how Vimien told me we would do it, but we needed a BLM. I had a BLM that would help but she only needed an hour to do AA Alliance fights and then she would be ready to get the Brand key items. But no, Vimien does it without her and tells me I can't enter unless we have a BLM...when in truth, why not switch out Tres after the end? I had a BLM, you just weren't willing to spend the time for her to get the Brand key items which would take only 30min-1hour. So you ditch me and tell me were aren't going to do the BC again. You forget that Qinnydar and Vimien were also not responding to my /tells just as i was months ago. It took me 3 or 4 tells to finally get an answer from them, and yes I knew you were doing PM8-4 but come on... it's not like you don't have ANY time to answer me...
The only thing you do in this post is try and make me look bad by laughing at me and trying to make it seem like I'M the bad guy, which I am not.

This is what transpired monday night:
We were preparing to do 8-3. As some of you may or may not know, PM 8-3 is much easier to do with 2 sleepers. Now our Set PM party has been since 4-3 WHM, PLD, BLM, SAM, DRK and DRG (who luckly had a RDM high enough for cap missions up to 60). Now this setup wasn't your ideal one. We had been searching for an extra BLM who could come along. In that case we would have had an odd man out.
At this point I get a /tell from Johnb and asked if he can join our group. My exact words we're: "possibly". I said we were still looking for a BLM and if we found one we would have to do a second run and therefore we could 'possibly' get him in. Anyway, he proceeded to go to the garden's of Ru'Hamet and wait there.
He had mentioned to me that stinkypoo needed 8-3 but he didn't have his Brands. Now I'm sorry, but all 6 of us we're not ready to go do the brands part of 8-3 again. 30-1 hour is best case senario. So instead we decide to go and try the BC with WHM, BLM, PLD, SAM, DRG, DRK. I would have to sleep-aga as well.
At this point i told John that we are just trying it with the original 6. Most likely we will not be doing it again if we win since we will have to use most of our items and 2hrs to get thru it. Not including having to wipe in the middle. So i told you at this time IF (and i made this clear) we needed you I would send you a tell but plan on not coming. You then proceeded to kill yourself by the pots to get up the the BC and we were all wondering what the hell you were doing. We (me) raised you and you continued to follow us to the BC, and as Qin mentioned, you wanted us to sub out Tres (our DRG) cause you think they sux for some reason. Anyway, you stood outside the BC waiting for us.
Because our group is UBER (as Seker will tell you) we win this BC thru non-conventional ways. So now we just want to beat up Promethia. Anyway, to cut this short after you found out we decided we weren't going 2x just for you you started calling me a betrayer or liar.

JohnB is one of those people. It's your fault JohnB got into sea, and i'm sorry i can never forgive you for that.

Now there is only 1 way to fix this, under the new ToS agreement johnb's incessent spamming of tells falls under the harassment guidelines, thus you need to call a GM on him, the only way to remove the scourge that is johnb from sea is to remove him from bismarck entirely.

Wow...I'm speechless. I don't even know where to start. (this is stinky, the username stinkypoo was already taken apparently). Oh and btw John I'm a he, not a she :P
My experiences with Johnb have been extremely similar to Qinny's: first the tells out of nowhere saying "{Riverne-#A01} {Do you need it?}" when I had no clue what a Riverne was, same thing with Boneyard Gully. At first I made my way through the PMs with pickup groups. When I got to PM 3-5, I met 3 great guys who I then static'd with from then on. The problem is we always had trouble filling those two last spots: each time we'd find someone they turned out to be unavailable later on, and each time we'd just fill those last 2 spots with whoever, and in retrospect that turned out to be our biggest mistake, and the only bad side of the PMs. Well that, and what came later.
Once we got to PM 5-3, we hit the same obstacle again, and like half the server (except dragoons, probably >_>), we knew that Johnb was looking for people to do Boneyard Gully. Our static leader made a deal with Johnb that if he helped us do the Pso'Xja part (where you have to kill 20 million gargoyles), he could do BG with us. We filled the last spot (name witheld to protect the innocent) and eventually beat BG. At first I didn't understand why our leader had made that deal; I thought "why not make him part of our static?", but I soon started seeing why. The rudeness and BOSSYNESS during the BC were quite annoying, and almost grew unbearable towards the end. Then when he was told he wouldn't be able to come with us for the rest of the missions, of course he acted all surprised and like there was no deal ever made earlier. Just like Qinny, I felt kinda bad. And just like Qinny, I got all kinds of tells, ranging from guilt trip attempts to near flaming.
We made our way through the rest of the missions until 7-5 with that other member and a 6th member from that person's ls (who already had sea and was just there to help out). Once we hit 7-5 the 5-man + 1 helper static we had kinda broke appart and went through rough times, and the guy whose ls helped us sorta went his own way with them (although they did come back to help for a mission or two and...I dunno, it's long and hard to explain :p), but me and the other 3 guys caught up with each other and did 8-2 together, along with Johnb who had helped one of us do 8-1.
This brings us to last friday, when we finished 8-2. It was late and people had to log, so there wasn't much time to get brands and lights and whatnot. We all said we would work on getting them, and I said I would try to help everyone (nearly one by one, if getting the Al'Taieu map is any indication >_<) get them over the weekend, since apparently I'm the only one with access to another pc to check maps while playing >.>. Saturday came around and my ls had an (...8 >_>) optical hat run, throughout which I got tells from Johnb asking me if I had gotten the brands, if I was gonna get the brands, etc.) I hadn't gotten the brands, and I knew there was no rush to get them because I knew the other people in my static were counting on me to get them, so I could just get them at the same time (why do it twice, ya know?)
So monday comes around with still no tells from any of the other 3 guys, and my LS is doing Divine Might. Johnb then starts telling me tells asking if I wanna do 8-3 tonight. I say:
- "sure, after I'm done"
- "but I don't have my brands yet....and I doubt the others have them"
LATER he reveals that he wants to do this with Qinny and other people, because "they're going to do a second run with us" (I then realized he meant just him and I, not the other 3 guys in my static). The DM goes on longer since we did more than one run, and by the end he sends me this:
"I can't believe it. we won't be able to do 8-3 because you took too much time doing DM and you didn't get your brands either"
I was like....UNO MOMENTO POR FAVOR. I sent him back a tell saying he could stuff 1) I told I could only go when I was done with this 2) that this DM fight was an ls event that had been planned FOR A MONTH 3) he started asking me for this 2 HOURS before. He didn't reply after this. Of course today 10 minutes after logging on I get a tell from him saying "stinkypoo!!! :D :D" -.-
To Vim and Qinny, I didn't need nor want anyone to hold my hand (like I held John's to get his light -.-) through getting the brands; it's something I can (and did) on my own; I think he basically told you that I wanted you all to do this for me or something >_>
I am now ready for the 8-3 battle. When the 3 people in my static are ready (i.e. not after I HARASS them to MAKE them be ready), I'll help them get theirs, and from there we can hopefully find two NICE people to wrap this thing up. Just like Qinny I now regret helping him. I don't even know if we're going to do the last battles with him (I sure hope not >.>) And the sad thing (but I guess it's also a good thing, since we won't have to hear about it anymore ;/) is in the end, he's probably going to finish these missions one way or another.
other favorite johnb moment:
- getting a tell smack in the middle of Dynamis San D'Oria asking "can you come help with 6-4? please!!!!"
- telling him the exact same thing qinny did: "you really need to work on your people skills"

At first I didn't understand why our leader had made that deal; I thought "why not make him part of our static?", but I soon started seeing why. The rudeness and BOSSYNESS during the BC were quite annoying, and almost grew unbearable towards the end. Then when he was told he wouldn't be able to come with us for the rest of the missions, of course he acted all surprised and like there was no deal ever made earlier. Just like Qinny, I felt kinda bad. And just like Qinny, I got all kinds of tells, ranging from guilt trip attempts to near flaming.
We made our way through the rest of the missions until 7-5 with that other member and a 6th member from that person's ls (who already had sea and was just there to help out). Once we hit 7-5 the 5-man + 1 helper static we had kinda broke appart and went through rough times, and the guy whose ls helped us sorta went his own way with them (although they did come back to help for a mission or two and...I dunno, it's long and hard to explain :p), but me and the other 3 guys caught up with each other and did 8-2 together, along with Johnb who had helped one of us do 8-1.
This brings us to last friday, when we finished 8-2. It was late and people had to log, so there wasn't much time to get brands and lights and whatnot. We all said we would work on getting them, and I said I would try to help everyone (nearly one by one, if getting the Al'Taieu map is any indication >_<) get them over the weekend, since apparently I'm the only one with access to another pc to check maps while playing >.>. Saturday came around and my ls had an (...8 >_>) optical hat run, throughout which I got tells from Johnb asking me if I had gotten the brands, if I was gonna get the brands, etc.) I hadn't gotten the brands, and I knew there was no rush to get them because I knew the other people in my static were counting on me to get them, so I could just get them at the same time (why do it twice, ya know?)
So monday comes around with still no tells from any of the other 3 guys, and my LS is doing Divine Might. Johnb then starts telling me tells asking if I wanna do 8-3 tonight. I say:
- "sure, after I'm done"
- "but I don't have my brands yet....and I doubt the others have them"
LATER he reveals that he wants to do this with Qinny and other people, because "they're going to do a second run with us" (I then realized he meant just him and I, not the other 3 guys in my static). The DM goes on longer since we did more than one run, and by the end he sends me this:
"I can't believe it. we won't be able to do 8-3 because you took too much time doing DM and you didn't get your brands either"
I was like....UNO MOMENTO POR FAVOR. I sent him back a tell saying he could stuff 1) I told I could only go when I was done with this 2) that this DM fight was an ls event that had been planned FOR A MONTH 3) he started asking me for this 2 HOURS before. He didn't reply after this. Of course today 10 minutes after logging on I get a tell from him saying "stinkypoo!!! :D :D" -.-
To Vim and Qinny, I didn't need nor want anyone to hold my hand (like I held John's to get his light -.-) through getting the brands; it's something I can (and did) on my own; I think he basically told you that I wanted you all to do this for me or something >_>
I am now ready for the 8-3 battle. When the 3 people in my static are ready (i.e. not after I HARASS them to MAKE them be ready), I'll help them get theirs, and from there we can hopefully find two NICE people to wrap this thing up. Just like Qinny I now regret helping him. I don't even know if we're going to do the last battles with him (I sure hope not >.>) And the sad thing (but I guess it's also a good thing, since we won't have to hear about it anymore ;/) is in the end, he's probably going to finish these missions one way or another.
other favorite johnb moment:
- getting a tell smack in the middle of Dynamis San D'Oria asking "can you come help with 6-4? please!!!!"
- telling him the exact same thing qinny did: "you really need to work on your people skills"

He didn't send those /tells to me, I think it was Casty he sent them to. But..ya, demanding that we kick someone who had worked just as hard as us in helping us all get there so that you can tag along is beyond ignorant and selfish. It's not like he even asked if we could redo it to help him after, but he demanded that we kick our friend and long time teammate out of the PT so that he could join. That's probably the rudest thing I've seen or heard of anyone doing in this game.
/em still wonders when the mysterious "help" on CoP certain people promised will arrive.

You know, after reading this thread, i think it finally hit me.
Johnb, have you been SERIOUS with your /tell's to me trying to help you with missions i a) have no idea what they are & b) can not be a help in any concieveable way?

Has anyone here asked Johnb for help? I have.... often. And he has never failed to help. Yes, he can be annoying. But can't your younger brother be as annoying? Tell him to shut the hell up if you don't want to help. Ask him for help if you need it. Don't bash a young kid for acting like a young kid.

What boggles my mind about this is ... you didn't seem to be friends with the guy or to even know him prior to all this...
After seeing the guy's constant spams... I think I would have stopped at the lack of an answer to your "{I don't understand.}". With him sending constant, random tells to everyone, it is obvious that he is using people as tools and no more.
I enjoy helping out people, but in this game, it often feels like people believe they are *owed* help by everyone, while they owe nothing to anyone. It hurts me to see how people with good souls tend to encourage this...
