So.. I was watching TV a few minutes ago and saw a commercial for a product called Sprite Plus.

Suddenly I started thinking to myself.. "If it's a plus.. does that mean a twelve pack'll cost more?"

When you see that it's a full moon while driving home and have an urge to fish, and you remark to your brother (who also plays), "CRAP! Get your fishing stuff from your Moogle and let's GO! God, I need level 15 fishing really bad." ><

Also, using FFXI emotes/smilies in AIM/MSN messenger. Also trying to use auto-translate on FFXI forums, or when talking to people you know IRL on AIM. ^^;

That night you're driving, and pass a UDF and say "Hey, I've got money now! I should go get some jones...."

You definitely know you're addicted when after spending an entire day at grandmas (who has cable), you go home and spend the entire night on 56k picking up where you left off after the half hour trip home ^^.

Time to hit mom up for DSL at the very least...

I came into work on a Monday and the Girl in accounting said, So what did you do over the weekend? Without thinking about it I said, Went to Bibiki Bay and got the crap beat outta me...

I realized what I said after she asked me where that was and if I was ok.

- When you call up your best friend from FF for the first time and one of the words that pops out of your mouth is "slash angry" while explaining something. ^^

(Yes, I did that to Brisania on our first ever phone conversation)

- When you find yourself acting more and more like your character /emotes

(although, to begin with, I always did those anyways ^^)

1) You start naming noticeable areas on your drives home to visit your parents after zones in FF. You then extend that to using them to explain to people how to get there,

"Drive through La Theine until you hit Rolanberry Fields, then you will go past a place like the Dunes until you hit Gustaberg. Get off the freeway, we're on the left near the Boyhada Tree."

/em hides from weird looks from relatives.

Even worse, during the drive you almost EXPECT to see a quadav or crawler amongst the berry bushes. It wouldn't surprise you.

2) You think Deodorize would be much more convienant than showering every morning.

3) You go fishing with some friends and wonder why you haven't had a skillup all afternoon. "Damn bastore sardine again!"

4) You sit and try to logically calculate the distance to time ratio in game. "If it takes 20 minutes to run to the dunes, and a Taru can probably run an average of 1.5 miles per hour...."

5) You compare waiting for your ride to waiting for an NM spawn. Same can be applied to in-laws visiting.

6) You sit in lecture and wonder how many other students are thinking about what they will do when they get home and log on.

When you call up one of your best friends in rw, and ask for them by her character name, only to be responded to with a "huh?" from thier mother and then be called a lunatic by your friend.

When you are assigned a paper to study the economics of a country, and without thinking you ask if you can study the economy of Bismarck. (True story)

Or holding an indepth convo with a classic culture buff who also plays the game about the parallels between Corinth of Ancient Greece, and The Grand Duchy of Jueno of Vana'diel...and actually being able to draw real simularities and differeances between the two. (I am convinced now that Jueno was based off of Corinth)

Edited to say: no, I'm not Arrielle. I'm a blonde elvaan like she is, but I couldn't steal candy from a Young Quadav.

Long time listener, first time poster. Had to come out of hibernation for this thread, and to talk about my Timex Indiglo CD/Alarm clock, which features four nature sounds:

1) ocean: waves, the cries of gulls. Selbina.

2) forest: owls, cicadas, the flow of a river. Jugner.

3) wind: La Theine.

4) bubbling brook: I call this one East Ronfaure.

Obviously customized to my San d'Orian upbringing. You could just as easily call the wind Tahrongi, the forest, Zi'Tah.

I like to use Selbina with the sleep function, mainly because I think it's one of the most peaceful places in Vana'diel..especially coming from Valkurm. But since this is a confessional thread, I'll go on to say that if I can't sleep, I visualize myself fishing there. Kinda like counting sheep, but with less temptation to /attack.

On another note, has anyone else taken to actually saying "lol"?

/resume hibernation

YKYBPTM-FFXI:

When you watch fishermen at the docks and wonder if they're actually bots.

When you are attempt to MPK them.

---

When you crack EXTREMLY lame jokes involving FFXI with your real life friends who could care less about FFXI, and threaten to kill you for your poor sense of humour:

ex:
"Dude, you go to that hookah party last night?"
"Nah, I went to the other party."
"Oh, which one?"
"It was at the Dunes, man. We had this Pally that could eat hate for breakfast! I could have Bene'd 24/7, that mob would have been on our tank like glue"

I won't even list the jokes I've cracked on "trains".

---

By the way, Arielle... are you Arrielle? Because if so:

I'd like to know if you still have my heart.

You stop playing the game because you are ready to move on only to get your PS2 returned to you in a very unexpected turn of events and your credit card is laying on the counter in front of you and the HDD is beckoning to you like a great night of sex..... -.-

I had to jump server forums to post on this. Its just too much. ^^

You know you have been playing too much Final Fantasy because:

1. You went to capoeira class and thought everyone was wearing Martial Slacks. (capoeira pants are long, baggy, and white with colored designs on the cuffs)

2. You opened your bedroom closet half expecting to see your Moogle.

3. You had apple pie for dessert thinking it would improve your battle performance.

4. You see a sumo wrestling compettion on TV and immediately think of Titan.

5. You see a swimsuit competition on TV and immidieately think of Shiva.

6. You dread working the night shift because you could swear Bogies and Bones were out.

7. You try to relate people's personalities to a specific job class.

8. You accomplish a task and expect a new title to be given to you.

9. You shadow-box with the kitchen broom as you polearm mimicking the movements of a well placed Penta Thrust.

10. You instinctively press Crtl + R when someone calls your name while you are on the computer.

11. You think of eBay as Lower Jeuno's Auction House.

>> By the way, I'm guilty of everyone one of these<<

When you stuff 12 pies into a small pouch.
When you get hurt you kneel down and hope to heal yourself in a 10 second time.
When a teacher starts yelling at you and you yell at a different classmate to "Voke" her off of you.
