When forming an eco-warrior partyFollow

Well since no one has been shouting that they want to form one lately (as weird as that is) and since I've had this on my to-do list since February, I think I am going to form a party for the San d'Orian Eco-Warrior quest.

So, you party forming experts, I seek your advice!

Alliance? Full alliance, if so? Just a full party? Lots of tanks/mages? Bring an escort?

I know my way around Ordelle's fairly well, but as a 44 WHM with little threat to my health. Need to know what I'm getting myself into, before I do it. And yes I'm an Eco-Warrior virgin, so that's why I'm asking for help.

I'm hoping I get enough exp from the page to regain my lost level. 400 tnl >.<

If you still havent done Eco-War, send a Tell to Bucon on Sunday nights around 9 PST or 12 EST

This last Sunday's Eco-War was a mess, but that doesn't usally happen.

I would like to do the quest too (if you haven't started it yet). Send me a tell this week from 8pm-12pm CDT.

Wow with the triple post.

By the way, I know who you are, who's rating me down, and you're really going to have to do better than that.

I'll either do it tonight or tomorrow, probably around 9PM EST. Look for my shout if I do it.

Semi confirmed:

Depending upon whether or not real life lets me, I'm planning on setting this up in Southern San d'Oria, tomorrow between 8 and 9PM EST. If you want to join up, be there, I guess. :p

I have to scrounge up some level 20 armor though.

I've done the Eco-war a few times (total of 7 now) and the easiest and quickest way to kill it with the smallest pt is a double alliance with these 2 key elements (everything else is really just filler). 4 BLM and 1 (or 2, but one is really all that is needed) PLD.

You guessed the strategy by now. PLD 1 does invincible, gets all the hate and BLM use 2 hour and nuke the hell out of it. PLD 2 is just in case PLD 1's 2 hour doesn't hold long enough to kill it. With this pt, u can kill the damn thing with only a double alliance. However, it takes a lot of skill to get this pt organized enough that u can survive the trip down to the actual monster itself.

One last thing, this method has been only tested on the Sandy eco-warrior. Don't know how it works with the others.

Well I can be WHM or BLM for this thing, I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens.

I *may* be able to get a PLD, but when it's 9pm my time, it's 2am his time so, we'll see about that. >.>

I just hope it doesn't fill up with a bunch of "oops I didn't start the quest" or "wut r we doin agin?" kind of people...

...so I'm picky. :p

The most important thing to do when organizing Eco-War parties is to make sure to take the whole damn group by the reigns and don't let go. Trust me, low ranking newbs will BS in Party chat (which by the way gets very cluttering >_<) unless you make it very clear that there is ONE leader in this alliance.

Couple other things to keep in mind. This is a very cool trick i found out while doing this for the 3rd time. When ur done killing the monster and getting the item, LOG OUT! When you log back in, there will be no level cap and curse will be lifted from you ^^. This allows high lvl WHM like yourself to either cast warp and get out or be very gracious and Teleport-holla your party out of harms way. However, this only will work if every single person disbands, logs off, logs on, and rejoins the group. Now you can save a lot of headaches by telling everyone to bring a Warp scroll, but you'll always get some newb that forgets it or says, "What's a Warp scroll?" (>_<) So in the end, as a WHM myself, i usually end up bringing a small group of newbs to the surface before warping back to sandy.

Sorry for the 2nd long post, but i just thought i'd pass on as much as i knew about this before you got started. Good luck! And message me if u need another BLM or WHM or any or my other jobs that are lvl 20 =)

The more I picture a party full of...well, "difficult people" we'll call them, the more I'm liking that PLD idea. I just hope the one in my LS can help.

Let's at least get us together and we can worry about the rest of the crowd later. I'm going to try to start setting up the party around 8PM EST but, since life hasn't been very forgiving lately, I'm not sure. We'll see.

If it doesn't happen I'll try some other time. Hope we can get it organized at least soon. Thanks for all these tips, they're really going to come in handy.
