Lucun + Doublening(sp?)
Those 2 completly ignore other miners, simply mining over the "owner" of the mining point. I know, it doesn't break any EULA rules but still, it does break the etiquette. Any of you ever ran into them?
I'd really like to get back on them, I just didn't find anything yet...

Yes sah.
Youll find plenty of threads on those two, in the bad player alerts, to just about any posts mentionning mining. Since they always seem to be on, and always lack etiquette the most common courtesy, going as far as /follow people to mine their points, we think theyre working for a company selling gil online.
Thats why most people from my LS moved on to mine Gusgen, since these two seem to low to play there.

Because I'm petty like this, I got mad at Lucun constantly following me around and taking the points while I mined them too. So I put my away tag up and went afk for about 5 mins, watching him. He eventually went off to follow someone else, who eventually left. Lucun found a point all on his own, til a certain Taru came outta nowhere and took it. >:D
Didn't say a word, but I got a couple /angry emotes!
Generally though I try to ignore them. Them and the Jerrys and Woodfor and Redmagic.

I recently started mining in yughott again (i'm leveling up smitihing) and have seen them but have not been their victims... yet. :x

this isnt exactly mining but this same thing happened to me one time
this guy was reseting by a logging point, and i logged it
he got all pissed at me
and told me that i was a f***ing n00b with no ediquite...
i told him i was sorry that i did it and he couldve asked me not to
he wouldnt listen cuz i think he blisted me :(

Well i was finally a victim, almost.
I was in yughott having a good time, when i see doublening doing her usual stand at the wall doing nothing routine. I was talking to Dryhus, who is a nice guy, doesn't complain when i beat him in races to points ;p. Anyways i see a point, i go for it, and lo and behold double pops up right next to me. Luckily it was a one point mine, so no zinc ore for her.
Dryhus then messages me that she stole one of his points.

They obviously never knew point stealers.
Next time i saw her mining away i ganked one of her points, and dryhus did the same with no response from her at all.
This leads us to conclude she either doesn't care at all or is a bot.
A ****** bot.

heh, posted this under the jerrys, but yeah, these miners suck. At least GET IN A FIGHT WITH ME... damn. oh well, i'm taking a break from mining to do some lvling/teleport quests. mostly because of them. The paranoid side of me had a weird situation where EVERY time one of them would run past me, i was losing connection. EVERY time. Very frustrating :(. Could've been coincidence, but imagine if they have that power to ruin mining points, not just steal them!!! Ok /paranoid off

It's the end of the world! I was mining in Yughott tonight and NO LUCUN! O_O It was so weird being able to mine without having to fend off the vultures.
...though I DID pay for it...I broke eight, yes, eight pickaxes on one mining spot, and all I got was a Copper Ore. :'(
But Jerrym was in there, so we weren't totally safe. -_-

Yes, finally, a response from this speak-no-evil point thief; I was having a restless night, nothing to do, so I decided to do something I hadn't yet; I went to Yughott to try and get a treasure chest.
I did manage to get a key off a Fighter, and with this in hand went up to the room where the chests pop; lo and behold, there was a chest there. Lucun was in the room, whacking Cursemakers left and right.
I walked over to the chest and opened it. The treasure sucked of course, cougar baghnakhs worth 1k, but Lucun ran over, did /angry and then /slap.
Aaaahahahaha. ^^
(It was just deserts, as she had done her run-up-and-mine-your-point schtick to me earlier that day)

Doublening has a new trick. She'll charm an orc and drag it to your point she's stealing so your /targetnpc macro won't allow you to retarget the point. Just an update on the Grotto mining situation. Anyone know if Palborogh is any good?

I'm glad I moved onto Gusgen, there's like no one in there and the payoff is sweet. Yes, very tasty. :@~~~

I just thought i would share my story since lucun now knows me and hates me.^^ Simply put i will not steal any point even from lucun, just not in me *shrug*. that being said i have no problem with /follow on her/him and well it works. she/he finally got sort of wise to it but i always have /follow lucun and my last line so i can just hit space bar, up, and enter again. it takes about 3-4 minutes to truely **** her/him off but since i have actually gotten good at this since she/he tries to use the change equip trick but no good on me so she/he ends up resorting to zoning for a while or just plain logging off. I have yet to have a problem personally with Doublening but i have seen and heard about her/him.
Also a note they are at low 40s that is why they stay in the Grotto since at 40s they would get owned in Gusgen so if you are a higher lvl miner and don't like to waste time then just fight for points in Gusgen. =:)

Actually, you can survive the four points in front at about level 30. Getting to the fourth point may involve fighting Ghouls and sneaking past Wendigos, but it's doable. :D
