No, not really... It's another "returned to FFXI and what the heck is all of this?!" thread.
So, I used to play on Ramuh, didn't really enjoy too much of the end game because I was too busy with my job ADD to get anything done but I finally leveled my WAR to 75 and I want to get in on all of this new leveling fun!
I tried to jump into Abyssea feet first but that just ended in disappointment. I was asked to join a group earlier today but I just couldn't say yes without letting the leader know that I didn't know what a keyer was but if he was willing to put up with me, I would gladly join. "nvm" Yes, it was disheartening but it just made me more determined to really learn how to group effectively in Abyssea so I can start level up and enjoy watching all of the equipment I thought was super amazing and would never die vanish into my storage.
I read a post about the basics of Abyssea and I generally understand the theory of it but I would like to get into the practice stages of it! For 75, I don't think I'm undergeared, I just haven't really been able to play the new areas so I guess that can make me look "n00bish."
Anyway, I hope that someone out here in Bahamut wouldn't mind including me in their Abyssea groups at some point soon and (hopefully) wouldn't mind showing me the ropes while I try to grasp the new group dynamics. (I'm still in the mindset where if your party was getting about 12k/hr, you wouldn't leave it no matter what curve balls real life was throwing at you! Oh, to be back in Colibri/Puk parties in ToAU zones...)
