Hi all I have a few questions. First off I'm going to be returning to this game after a long stent. I was thinking of starting a new character from scratch on this server. I know the basics I know how to do most things but like most people I might need a refresher or 2.
My questions are...
What job is needed most on this server?
Who will accept me into their ls?
In that ls what Job is needed most?(I like to help)
Is there an updated guide on all things a new person might need? (Ports, mini quests, necessitys, extra)

First welcome back to your addiction.
The server doesn't need anymore jobs, most people have multiple jobs at 99 and/or dual box. However, play your game to enjoy yourself. So pick whatever job you enjoy most, other then RDM (game wide) not being a job invited for any event you will get into eg events easily enough and low man all there used to be.
There are a number of LS that are newbie/returning player friendly. Dispite me being being a jerk, the one I am in is helpful and fun. Social by nature with members group together to get events done. Message me if you are interested in a social shell and I can direct you to a sackholder.
From what I have seen no updated guides. I came back in Oct and had to just look things up and ask in game. The ls you join will help you get caught up. I was away for close to 5 years so Abyssea and procing were what I hard to learn from scratch. Get into it and its easy to pick up.
What job do you enjoy most? Leveling is very easy and fast now, so if you have three favorite jobs getting them to 99 won't take years.

I always loved BLU but I like BRD,THF,DRG,SAM I switch alot because I get bored and want something new so ill be leveling everything to 30 before I get any higher probably lol.

Take the jobs to fifty for subbing. All are good jobs to help out with. I am War and Bst. Working on getting decent gear and trial weapons done.
Well im doing a bunch of research and im either gonna start at the beginning of march or im gonna start at the begining of april. I will be moving at the end of march/start of april. dunno if ill have internet for the first half of april or not so not sure if i want to just wait till after april but I am coming back regardless.

I'd wait til you had connection so after your move and you are settled. Game isn't going anywhere and the LS I refered to has a sister shell due to so many members.

Interesting post. I'll be a returning player too after about a year and a half. I will be back online in about a day or so and I will be switching servers as soon as I start playing again. I have been playing since 2005 and my original server was Asura. It would be funny to go full circle back to Asura again, Lol. Anyway, I am a veteran player for the most part, although I still don't have all of the expansions completed. I would just like to get back into game play before the next expansion drops. I have a few jobs level 90 and some decent gear for each. I only have about 2 weeks before the expansion releases, so I have a lot of work to do. I'll be spending a day or so getting reacquainted with the game. I look forward to playing with friendly and dedicated players. My IGN is: Toshiden. Hope to see you online if I come back to Asura. :)
