I noticed tonight that some of the other servers are starting a thread for crafters that are interested in crafting for others. I know that many in my LS are often looking for help with items, thought maybe it would be good for Asura too.

Cooking 60 Cloth 52 Alchemy 60 Wood 30 Gold 34

I will craft for supplies or the cost of supplies. I can be reached at Redyne@unitas-gaming .com.

Hello! Current craft levels in my sig.

If I'm not busy I'm always happy to craft something for a commission. Contact me in-game and we can negotiate details.

The only requirement I ask for is please make sure you know the recipe and the skill caps required for your item before asking. I don't work off of recipe lists (I carry it all in my head) so if you ask if I can make uber item "foo", chances are the answer is "I dunno".

My craft skills are in my signature as well. Same, if I'm not busy and if you provide the materials (to include the cyrstal/s) I will gladly craft anything for you, but I will not hold any responsibility if I fail.

Please do some research before contacting me, do not expect me to know every single recipe there is to all crafts. Often I get requests for items that has nothing to do with Goldsmithing.

I DO NOT charge for crafting anything at all even if it is HQ, I find it wrong to charge at least the stuff I can craft right now.

Edit: 20050405
I am also leveling Woodworking and for this reason the elemental beads I will be crafting soon will be for that purpose, I will reserve ALL beads for my crafting. I will start crafting NQ elemental staves soon, HQ probably not for another month or two. I will take requests for elemental staves (signed or unsigned), but I WILL NOT take requests for elemental beads as I've been getting too many of these.

Also VERY IMPORTANT, nobody I repeat NOBODY can craft HQ items that you want. With high level in a craft the chances of getting HQ items increase, but it's NEVER guaranteed. Failures are also possible, even a Goldsmith 100+3 could fail a level 10 recipe, so don't take it for granted. If you want an HQ item be prepared for the crafter to attempt it at the very least 5 times. Sometimes he could get it on the first try or sometimes he could get it on the 10th one, sometimes you won't get it at all.

Kinda a lowbie crafter here (highest levels in sig), but I'm more than willing to craft stuff for people IF you ask nicely. If you can provide materials, all the better, but if you can't, I'll ask for compensation. Smiley: wink

My current crafting levels are in my sig.

Like Aurik, I don't mind crafting for a commission, but I prefer either you PM me here or send a tell in game to Libby, not Popsi. Why? I craft with Libby, but more people try to contact Popsi. If I am on with Popsi, I am likely in an xp group or leading a linkshell event.

Just some general advice for anyone seeking help from a crafter:

1. Look up the recipe and price the ingredients. Can you afford the ingredients? If not, you won't be able to afford the final result either.

2. How much skill will the crafter need? Remember, multiple skills may be required. Knowing this will help you choose a crafter to ask.

3. Next, compare ingredient cost to the price on the AH. Often, the AH cost will be less than 10% greater than the cost of the materials. If this is the case, you should strongly consider buying it from the AH! There is no risk of the synth failing and losing your materials when you buy from the AH, and no commission to be paid.

4. Is what you are after a HQ result? If so, again consider buying from the AH. A crafter needs skill greatly in excess of the skill required to make the recipes to HQ regularly, and even then there is no guarantees. In other words, there is a reason HQs are priced so dearly.

Cloth is the most common support craft for leather. Smithing and goldsmithing also have some value. Study a recipe list and try to decide what you'd like to be able to make in the future.

My LS members are suggesting I get into either (or both) Clothcraft or Leathercraft. Both of them appear to be popular with the Asurans here! :O

I'm off to browse the Tradeskill forums now, but if anyone has any suggestions, let me know!^^

edit>> Update! I am the level 4 Clothcraft.^^ I headed out to Giddeus and farmed tons of yag necklaces, and then turned them into thread. After I had a good amount of thread, I turned them into cloth. I'm off to a good start, I think.

That is your best bet to start Cloth. That is how I started at least.

Just a note. When you start breaking down the Yagudo Necklaces make sure you use a Wind Crystal. If you use a Lightning Crystal you get copper I think. I made that mistake when I started and was like WTH is going on, I'm supposed to get Grass Thread. I will look for the guide I used up to the early 60's and post it here for you.

By the way. You don't need Leather to raise Cloth. You will need Bone to about 6 when you get into the 20's of Cloth.

The only reason I have leather that high is because I needed it to raise Blacksmithing.

I hate Leathercrafing. lol

Heyo! I'm looking for someone who can craft the Knight's Sword +1.

I'll supply and items and/or pay a fee. I just can't seem to find any on the AH.

Here's the link for the sword:

http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?fitem=1719

I'm unfamiliar with how far above the crafting cap you need to be to HQ synth the item, but if anyone here thinks they have the proper smithing level, just let me know!

Thanks!

Even if you find somone that Is "Very" High Blacksmith it is never a certain thing to get a +1. You can do all the things possible, Craft on the right day, the right moon.. so forth and so forth and still not get a +1.

Whenever anyone asks me if I can craft them a +1 I tell them nothing is for sure and they might end up getting a regular synth.

I know you don't want to hear this but your best bet is to just keep watching the AH for a +1 to go up for sale.

Good Luck though.

Knight's Sword +1 is a regular synth (conquest item upgrade), not a HQ result.

I'm up to Clothcraft 13! But boy am I getting a LOT of failures. I'm making Linen Thread, according to the guides Emp posted above. It's a very expensive stage, I have to say.

Any tips from the more experienced crafters here?

Are you sure Popsi? I know Allakhazam isnt the best for recipies but based on what they say its an Exceptional Result.

Char,
I don't think there is anything better at that point. I hope you made Hachimakies till 12 I belive they cap at. Good news is when you get done making all that Linen Cloth you can sell it back for a bit of money. The guides are set up to level you up off of mostly Consumable materials. If you level off Consumables then its easy to sell the materials back. When you get higher it kind of suck because you end up having to make Thinks like "Green Ribbons" and Nobody wants to buy the million and a half green ribbons you made to level the last 8 levels.

Best advice is stick to consumables as much as you can.

Four solid days of trying to find a Knight's Sword +1, and still no luck. ; ;

Perhaps there's money to be made, here? I'm not sure how often they would sell, but if any of you find it worth your while, remember there's someone looking for one. ^^

Finally bought a Knight's Sword +1 that popped up on the AH.

This is a sword recommended for RDMs in their late 40s and early 50s. I'm not a big crafter, but perhaps there's money to be made in the HQ Knight's Swords.
