Morion Earrings: "The Price is WHAT?!"Follow

I was just wondering if anyone knew what was going on with Morion earrings. A week ago they were 60k. Two days ago they were 75k. Now they're at 100k. Did the materials to make morion earrings suddenly become insanely rare or something? Has the morion worm population been exterminated? =)

Trying to laugh, since it keeps me from being irritated. ^^

I have seen the Xiao- family camping the morion worms lately. While I am against gil sellers, I'll admit there's good real-life money in it since SquareEnix really doesn't seem to care despite their Terms of Service. Also, one of the Xiaos did raise a teammate and I while we were killing worms for experience, and another actually asked in broken English if we need help leveling while they camp. It surprised the heck out of me!

Seriously though Vicious, if you catch me online sometime (Meglan) and I'm near my moghouse, I'll most probably sell my Morion Earrings to you for 75k so you don't have to pay the overpriced amount. I have 2 and I don't really use them anymore cause I stopped playing blm almost as soon as I got them :-/

-edit-
just please tell me you're going to use these and not sell them at overpriced amount...

I camped this with some RL friends for a while, but there was a very organized group also camping them. We lost out many times, and eventually gave up. They weren't in a particular name series or anything, I just got the impression that this was something their linkshell did a lot to make money... And they were very good at it... they could be driving up prices...

DrObvious: Thanks! I'll try to do that. =) I was only looking for one -- though to be honest, I've found out why morions are going for so insanely much now, and you might want to sell them through the AH instead. With Emptiness being limited to level 30, any gear that's between 25 and 30 has jumped in price from demand. Centurion's Sword, Centurion's Scale armor... Morion Earring....

To be honest, it kind of makes me feel a bit queasy, but that's the socialist in me getting sick at the price gouging. The capitalist in me pretty much figures that this should have been obvious in its coming. People will be people and so of course they see an opportunity and take it; demand shot up so the price went up to what the market would bear... and at last check what the market would bear was 110,000 gil.

Yeah because in the week or they've been on they've levelled up mega high and maxed their crafts and are simply dominating the AH.

speaking as "nEUb" let me tell you, any idea how EXPENSIVE the low lvl equipment is? i've got friends who've been on this sever for about a year, and they cant beleive the prices at the AH for the low gear i've NEEDED to lvl up... yet everything that we might be able to get as drops from the mobs we can fight is selling for like 50g... so tell me, are us nEUbs to blame for the expense that the NA players are looking at at high lvls, or maybe its the NA players crafting low lvl gear and flogging it WAY over the odds, to line their own pockets that are to blame for the whole damn AH prices going nuts?

just a thought eh? ^^-b

I highly doubt that!

I don't know whether to take offence at the 'nEUb' phrase or not ... I guess since I've been playing since the NA release, I can't really be looked down upon as a 'nEUb'

Why do people always have to point the finger at 1 group of people or another!? Can't you just accept that that prices go up ... and will most likely come down again! If you want someone to blame for price fluctuation, go blame the Apple*'s, the Xaio*'s and the god knows how many more Gil farmers out there!

Simple solution but may take time: Don't buy. When stuff starts going back to delivery boxes unsold, people will have to start bringing the prices back down.

For those leveling new jobs, new to the game (or just to the server as is my case), you can get by with the clothes given to you til about level 5.

Luckily, I had a friend supply me with some level 1 armor. But I know its extremely hard to make gil to buy armor when first starting out.

One thing I have noticed from this server and Cerberus is things sell for more at the AH. Which is sometimes good, but sometimes not.
