Hello,
This is my first time posting to the actual server forum.
I am wondering what I am doing wrong as I have just reached lvl 43 cooking and have made SO many Apple pies, I ran out to Jeuno to sell em and had the character up for 2 solid days. not a single one sold!

I had em priced at 300, then bumped it down to 250. checked other bazaars and seems some are selling em for 300 some for 280, some 250. Are apple pies just not in that much demand anymore?

I have since moved from Port Jeuno, to Lower Jeuno, back to Port Jeuno. still no sales, now I am/was parked between the 4 taru squad the guys who seem to ba able to sit there and look so cute by the fountian hoping to get noticed.

So what is it are my pies priced to high? are they no good??
help me out.

The market's just flat-out flooded right there.

Either stand near the zone to Qufim, or pick somewhere outside of Jeuno to be.

Either one will probably work better.

Ya know I was thinking of going to Kazham, or another remote location and set up shop, maybe even grab some Ingredients for Kabobs.

Pretty good idea, I'm gonna do that when I get home, I gotta work on my car anyway so might as well give it a few hours in a town/zone area.

Thanks.

I hear people shouting for apple pies in the dunes quite frequently...if I were you I'd make a mule and call it cheappies or buymypies or something silly like that and park it right at the selbina zone ^^.

Yeah, selling in or around a city with an AH isn't always the best the idea. If you do manage to sell something there, it's going to have to be at AH price. The way I sell my food (and I'm going to have to kick myself for giving away my stategies :-p) is to go someplace like the dunes or the maze, far away from an AH, and sell there. Once you're in a place like that, you're free to overprice or underprice someone that's alreay there selling your prodect.

And yeah, for Apple Pies, those aren't the biggest money maker right now. I'd stick to selling mithkabobs, I was able to fund my cooking all the way into the upper 80's by selling those at a decent price in places far away from the AH's.

I have found a major money maker to sell is chocobo tickets. You can pick them up fairly cheaply at various AHs, then turn around and sell them either at a crag, or at Jueno during peak hours. I have run out of my 1.5k tickets when the going price for chocobos has pushed past 2k in Jueno...

on epoint to note, is it is mostly higher levels in Jeuno who can afford a stack of Melon pies or pumpkin pies for that bit extra for a few hundred gil more. I would go set up shop in the dunes.....I have ran out of apple pies many times there and not many ppl sell them there.

I should add this little tip too (though I always feel bad for doing this): If you're a 25+ whm, 38+ rdm, or 50+ pld, then you can sit the dunes or Selbina with search comments telling players you're away but what's in your bazaar. That way, when people are looking for raises, they'll see you, check your comments, see your away and see what's in your bazaar. It's a decent but somewhat nasty way to get checked a little more often.

You could always go to an AH where there are a lot of people and type "/em examines you." and wait for everyone to examine you back, but I really hate when people do that. 1) It's more spam on an already spam filled screen, and 2) I'm one of the few people that think examining people without asking first is rude.

You and me both. I get incredibly annoyed whenever I get examined. First off, I don't have anything that would constitute my setting up a bazaar, so I never have one up, and second, when I'm leveling a low level job and am only wearing something like a bronze harness, is it really necessary to check me to see what other low level equipment I'm using?

Oh I've gone back and forth on this argument with so many people and I'm glad someone argrees with me. If the person isn't looking for a party or has their bazaar on, don't check them. If you really want to know what they are, just type '/search <t>' or ask first. And the people that want to be checked will generally make some comment about what they're wearing. It's just one of those general etiquitte things. Of course I'm guilty of checking someone without asking last night, of course that was kind of a must...

I'm leveling smn in Qufim and this warrior strolls up in blue armor that looks strangely like fishing armor. I check him, and yup, it is. I think at first, well maybe he just doesn't have the money, nope. He has on the level 15 fishing gear, +1 earrings, and all other nice equipment. -_- So for some odd reason, he's made main tank and just as I suspected he died. I asked him why he wore fshing armor and he said because he didn't like the way other armor looked! :-/

off topic a little, but the "checking" thing gets to me too...

even tho now i'm as guilty as anyone of it.. but in my first few hours of play i got checked by close to 20 people (no lie!).. i think a few of them saw the low lvl armour and the *** sounding name and wondered what the **** was going on, but it really annoys me when i'm running around. minding my own and someone checks you.. i dont care being checked at the dunes, or anywhere i'm seeking a party, or if someone in my party checks me, not a problem, my understanding of equiping could risk their PT if its bad, but when i'm just standing there outside the AH???

i check em back now, several times in fact.. i find they stop then ^^
