Seems like no one is posting in these other forum sections. Everything is in general right now.
Right now I have carpenter at 20...just got it there today. Mostly I just got it so all the logs I have been harvesting wouldn't go to waste and poof magically got it to 20 without trying. The good thing is that when I do other classes I will be ready since I can make up to lvl 25 equip for them, well mostly other crafting classes.

I made a macro for the basic mats to help get exp without really paying attention. I don't really remember the exact wording but it went something like

touch
wait
touch
wait
touch
wait
mend
wait
touch
wait
touch
wait
touch
wait
um geez i forget what the progress one is called lol

I made different variations of this so if my craftsmanship wasnt high enough i would still do enough to progress all the way. So it was as simple as hitting synthesize and a hotkey then wait for it to be done while doing other things.

I didn't even think about using macro while crafting. I've been manually crafting everything trying to get the most quality out of each item since it gives more xp.

I guess the macro would be WAY better than the built in automatic crafting that gives only like 25% xp or something.

You can do automatic crafting on certain recipes if you meet requirement, it's called Quick Synthesis. It gives full EXP however it will break unlike if you do Normal Synthesis where you have total control and very hard to fail (unless you aim for HQ). Only certain recipes, Dyes aren't one of them and I had to manually do all 99 of the Dye T_T

The WVR Lv15 skill Careful Synthesis is amazing, I've found. It basically forces progress for no CP, making it a guaranteed Basic Synthesis whenever you want. That lets me focus on hitting the highest quality I can on every Carpenter synth I do.

There are fewer CPR synths than WVR; I'm going to try my hand at leveling BTN once I've gotten CPR to 15. Perfect craft and gathering, along with Leatherworker, for a future Bard. :)

I have been doing it slightly differently. I start with Steady hand to make Basic Touch much more reliable. It raises it to 90% success from 70%, so here is what I am doing now while I make a bunch of grass thread/cloth. Can easily adapt for logs and carpentry.

/ac "Steady Hand" <me>
/wait 2.5
/ac "Basic Touch" <me>
/wait 2.5
/ac "Basic Touch" <me>
/wait 2.5
/ac "Basic Touch" <me>
/wait 2.5
/ac "Master's Mend" <me>
/wait 2.5
/ac "Basic Touch" <me>
/wait 2.5
/ac "Basic Synthesis" <me>

I am at 14 carpentry and 11 cloth now. Once I get 15 in both, I am going to do alchemy to 15 for Tricks of the Trade.

Careful Synthesis actually does 90% of a basic synthesis with guaranteed success

Also... as I'm sure most of you know, Quick Synthesis actually gives 50% of the XP you would normally get for a 0% HQ synthesis. Of course this is itself only a fraction of what you get if you raise quality to 10% or so which gives around 250% more XP than a 0% HQ synth
