This thing. It used to be a reset every 36 hours, now it is a refresh (maybe?) every 12 hours. It was done on 8:00 (EDT, not sure if that time is adjusted daylight savings time or not) on the 36 hour schedule, I don't know if it is still done on 8's. I had just assumed that it was synced with something at lodestone or something.

The ffxiv sigs scrape the xiv site. They changed and I haven't had time to figure it out yet

I don't think he's done anything yet, or mine hasn't updated.

I was just wondering if Zam knew about it. Just as long as its being worked on.

Mm, I tired to make a signature just now, and it doesn't seem to be working. I understand that you have a lot to do, but is it something that is high up on the list to fix, or does it seem impossible?

I just updated it on my end (generated it fresh). I'll let you know how it works out (it takes a while to actually take effect).

Two things going wrong here, one of which is fixed. Apparently you can be some rank of something or another (Storm something third class or some such) that didn't used to be there and is not there on all profiles. That was breaking the scraper-parser-thinger. I ran the full updater and it went through all XIV profiles without dying after the change I made.

Second, sig images are on the CDN and don't update as fast. Going to get to Jerek and see how he wants to handle that. They will update eventually, just not quickly.

I honestly don't know. Ranks are pretty new, so if it's been around a while, then probably not. I would think that 'class' would have nothing to do with Company Rank, but I don't know enough of the technical details.

Our current sigs show the logo of our starting cities. At this point it would be more relevant to show the company of the city we joined.



This is the loadstone info on my character. It shows my starting city, which I couldn't care less about, but is themed around the company that I joined (adders). Even if you can't dredge up our rank atm, if you could get company affiliation to determine the logo depicted on our sigs it would be great.

Our current sigs were before grand companies (basically, national allegiance) and give us the logo of our starting nation, which means next to nothing. Ideally, that would be a good default, until a character joins a grand company (at that point their info will contain serpent, flame, or storm rank stuff). Once that info shows up in their character info, it would make more sense to show the logo of the company's nation.

For instance, I started in Ul'dah (oldern tyme balance logo), but I have joined Gridania's Grand Company (Caduceus with a flower top). The caduceus would much better represent my character's affiliation at this point. Even if you can't shoehorn the rank info into it, just changing the logo would be much more representative of our characters.
