Just as it says made a post and was given the red/green arrows. Tried to refresh the page it didn't go away. Jut a heads up. I was using firefox with everything allowed for Zam.

Can you re-create it? I'd like to hit guru sometime soon.

On a serious note, did you see the arrows in the actual post, or on a preview of the post? All boxes show up when you preview a post, but I don't think any of them work.

I do not see any of your posts where you rated yourself up. Can you provide a link to the post as I am sure the devs will want to see it. Thanks!

I checked the rating history, none of the ratings took. So no worries there. still, we should probably take a look at that bug. can you PM one of us the particulars of how it occured?

The actual code that rates posts (i.e. the back-end not the JS,) only allows admins and higher to self-rate, so it wouldn't take regardless :)

And here I thought admins were admins with kao being the first among equals or something. What is higher than admin? Do the corporate goons check in here from time to time?

Managers and Devs have separate roles defined. Devs mostly so admins don't have to look at our debugging and all that crap, manager for things normal admins don't need access to (i.e. DF so she can fix/change things).

Angsty, somehow I'm more confused. I mean, I know that the devs have their own little world (as they should, filthy people), and that the Kaos and DF's probably have some special toys, but other than that, is there more stratification.

Only because it makes things work harder at display time and we'd have to do it for everyone. I would say talk to me when you hit like 25k posts, but I think more posts would mean it happens more often = worse, lol.

I could go for unique Wingdings instead of numbers.

Oh, come on, I'm almost top 100, so you wouldn't need to do it for everyone.

Well, aside from not allowing everyone to have the postcount, the problem is that everyone has to display that postcount on every pageview. That's where it gets heavy. Even though formatting text isn't such a pain (although I don't recall a sprintf that goes dec => bin off-hand so I'd likely have to write something custom,) it still can take its toll. I made it so one keystroke can actually stop it in all places if any of us (being I think just me, jerek, and one troll we screwed with plus DF/Joph which don't count because they have static strings,) if it gets annoying.
