Signatures with redirecting links?Follow

I didn't see a clear-cut answer to this in the forum rules, so figured I'd ask:

What's the stance on people having signatures with links that redirect to a for-profit site selling a leveling guide for a game?

I'm seeing a new poster who originally did not have a signature suddenly adding one with such an advertisement.

It's covered under forum rules Paragraph E. Advertising such as that to for profit sites is generally prohibited. They want to advertise, they can buy a banner ad. Where it gets to be a bit of a grey area is the various free guides out there that are looking for ad clicks. sometimes we let those stay assuming the target site doesn't have alot of RMT ads all over the place, etc.
