I can only apologize so many times for that. Smiley: frown

Oh hey, discovered that if you post and it goes to the next page, it doesn't automatically load to your post.

Very cool so far. Will have to get used to where everything is.

The forum titles are missing. Thread titles are there, but no forum title (which should be in the same place).

I believe that was intentional

I know you're probably most interested in bug and not commentary, but I have yet to notice any so it's just going to be commentary for now.

I think aesthetically it's a good improvement, at least looking at the FFXIV version of the site.

Depending on how big of a role you want it to play, you may want to make the rating stand out more. The rate up and rate down buttons have a very significant visual pop, and are easy to see and find, but the actual rating of the post doesn't stand out. It's just black text and it somewhat blends into the date. New users aren't going to notice it very easily, and they are the ones who probably need it the most.

I just want to second the request for the option to "Hide Youtube Videos," like you can signatures and avatars/pictures. I do like the auto-open Quick Reply option, though.

Rating still seems borked.

The forumtest server didn't eat it's vegetables. It should be fine once live.

And someone (Eske?) mentioned a problem using the breadcrumbs to change forums. Using the Zam.com skin, and IE8, I don't have a drop down menu on the breadcrumbs at the bottom of the page.

The dropdown menu would just be cut off, so it's disabled. In a future update to how the paths/breadcrumbs work we may be able to re-enable this.

Belkira the Tulip wrote:
Also: Second a "hide videos" button.

The option to hide images and avatars now turns embedded YouTube videos in to links.

There's going to be a lot of shenanigans when it comes to youtube. Is it available to everyone, or just premium? Hopefully it has at least the 250+ post minimum.

At the moment its wide open, under the theory that if someone links to something bannable, we're going to ban over it. We may want to add a posting restriction on it though

This now requires 250 posts.

While looking at http://ffxi.forumtest.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=10, I think that the blue scholar font color is rather hard to read on the blue background. I don't know if making the font color a brighter shade would help or not.
I concur.

I lightened the Scholar link color on FFXI forum tables.

Another one I just noticed. 51 posts per page now? That's gonna mess some stuff up.
I don't think anything was actually changed, everything was just properly renumbered. I still have all my My hovercraft is full of eelss in the DRK thread.

Correct, it's always been 51 posts on the first page, just that it wasn't as obvious before.

Aye, that's the one. When I use it to change forums, it has me in:

Fixed.

Could we get mouseover post previews on the "Your Posts" page? When the quote pyramids start, the short preview on the page isn't always enough.

Done.

On embedded YouTube videos, scrolling will stop if using the scroll wheel on your mouse if the cursor is in the frame of the video. Not sure if you can do anything about it (probably set on YouTube's end), but thought I'd bring it up since I often scroll-wheel through threads and it's fairly annoying to have it stop whenever there's a video.

This is on YouTube's end. If I can find a way to get around it though, I'll do what I can.

This is an existing issue with the live forums as well. I'll make sure there's a ticket in for the issue.

Was the change of colors of usernames on the FFXI skin deliberate or an error? I'm not liking seeing my name in dark blue, and nobody should ever be green.

It seems a little squished horizontally but I like it's smoothness. The topic preview from mousing over is a welcome change and overall I have to give props to the designers.

The rate up/down seems more functional, I remember sometimes i'd click and nothing would happen. It's in an interesting part of the post and next to report, easily found.

Overall I like it.

Some sites didn't use the standard user name colors that the majority did, and FFXI was one. All sites now use the same color scheme (or very close to it - some were adjusted slightly to account for site differences) to represent Sage, Scholar, Guru, and Admin.

Only the WWW site has a fixed width, the others use their normal sizes.

The little speech bubble icon next to a thread lights up if you had the most recent reply.

Steps:
Read the thread.
Posted in thread.
Clicked link to return to forum with thread.
The thread's icon is lit up and not greyed out.

I guess technically there are new posts... but then again, there is nothing new the poster.

That's because those icons indicate whether there are new posts since your last visit to the forum (a.k.a. thread list), not whether you've read them yet. It would be nice to not include your own posts for this, but that can be trickier than you'd expect. Also, this is how the live forums already function.

Can we suggest that they be separate options?

And a quick follow up, immediately after I posted the whole thread vanished except the Quick Reply box. Will edit in picture after this post.
Screenshot

Edit: It hasn't happened again, so might have been some weird fluke. Still felt should be mentioned, just in case.

Do non-premiums get img folders or are we stuck piggybacking on premium member's folders lolgaxe?

I think the intent is to give non premiums image upload folders, but possibly with a cap on the size of the upload folder. I'm not certain that will be ready at launch.

I signed up just to post this. I clearly have nothing better going on in my life on a Friday night :]

As a non-registered user in the new forums the quick reply button and form is still available. Not a big deal since it doesn't actually follow through with the post, but may as well hide it to non-registered users?

Ranging from "Soon" to "Very soon", depending on if any further issues are discovered, and how long it takes to fix the last few identified.

I should have taken a pic, but didn't think of it, but when I make a post that is a multiple of 50 for the thread I end up in some nil page. It's like it wants to go the next page but there are no posts on it yet.

I'm having issues rating. There is either mega lag or I have to click an arrow several times to get a rate to take effect. Once I do it for one post on a page, though, the any other rates will take place with one click.
