Site has been rather slow latelyFollow

#1 May 04 2011 at 4:21 PM Rating: Good
Running on Windows 7, Chrome 11, AT&T DSL. All other websites load normally, but ZAM pages sometimes take upwards of 30-40 seconds to load. Sometimes I get impatient and try to reload them - usually does not work and I have to sit there for another 30 seconds.

It's sporadic though. Sometimes the pages load fast, and nothing has changed at all.

Seems fine from this end, at least on the forum side. Any specific pattern to which slow pages you have encountered specifically?

Gonna need much more detail to troubleshoot; not all pages are created equal :) I haven't experienced it from here.

Just chiming in to say I've had no issues either. Cleared your cache lately?

Just counted - over 40 seconds to navigate from the main FFXI forums to this forum to check on the thread.

Chrome says at the bottom: "Waiting for ffxi.allakhazam.com..." My cursor gives me the swirly circle but the page remains where it was for the next 30-40 seconds, before finally loading up the requested page.

This install of Windows is under a week old, and this Chrome install is about 3 days old. I'll clear my cache but I'm not sure it's going to do anything.

Works fine for me, maybe it is your internet? Personally have never had an issue with the Alla (zam) sites speed or connectivity when it isn't down do to something serious.

I don't use AVG any more because it was so full of bloat. Is it set up to scan web pages? Just checking.

do you have any auto complete stuff saved for here, like say forum searches, item searches, stuff like that? It doesn't really slow things down much I don't think, but it is added stuff to load each visit.

It's been abnormally sluggish for me for a few days, too. Win 7, comcast, firefox, and norton 360. With nothing new on my end.
