Thinning out the survey monkeysFollow

Another day, another survey, another person using the word avatar in a way that hints they probably don't play.

Suggestion: Instead of having to report the folks who don't read or comply with the policy on getting surveys cleared, is there a way to simply automate things?

User name contains "survey" > account suspended until cleared by designated admin.

Post links to surveymonkey > account suspended until cleared by designated admin.

This won't catch all the folks who don't want to be bothered with the FAQ, but it would thin them out some.

The site already does something similar with other things. For example:

C huck N orris does not want to buy gold and gil. Who gives a (d)uck?

becomes:

Allakhazam does not want to buy gold and gil. Who gives a ****?

Yep, the filters are still working.

When you're really bored, they can be kinda fun to harass, tbh.

They're also fun to nuke once the user-base is done harassing them.

Ah, they're meant to be flame bait -- the forum equivalent of bubble wrap. :)

Well, since being an expansion behind otherwise limits my ability to be snarky in a semi-productive form, I'll grab the popcorn and enjoy.

I'd be more inclined to think there should be something that detects when people feel the need to double carriage return in between each sentence.

Like this.

And this.

The word surveymonkey has appeared in 8 posts not counting this thread in the last 90 days (which works out to less than one onehundredth of one percent of posts in that time period). The amount of overhead adding another filter would not be worth it (also, false positives/approved surveys). Please do feel free to use the report button for unapproved surveys and we will get to them quickly as is possible.

Thanks!
