going through my posts i noticed

in 505 posts i have

59 sub defaults
250ish decent+

out of the decent + abt 100 or so are good and 10 or so are excellent

the rest are default

how exactly does the karma system work i mean if the majority of my posts are decent+ and only 10% or so sub-d shouldnt i like be scholar or something

basicly whats the formula for calculating this. there used to be a 5 point avg but its not there anymore

it was 3.0+ was scholar 4.0+ sage and idk guru i assume 5.0 or 4.7+

but the number statistic is no longer there it used to be there when u checked your posts an "avg score" of all posts

Scholar is >=3.01, sage is >= 3.66, guru is >=4.33

Karma has nothing to do with total post ratings, and is basically determined by how much your first posts were rated up/down. Each time you post you rate yourself twice at your overall karma score, which serves to cement you in place. The more total ratings you have, the less each one affects obviously, making it very difficult to overcome a bad (or good) start.

If someone posts 1000 times, and gets rated up once on each post, and then their next 1000 posts all get rated down 1x, they'd end at either guru, or sage. If the opposite happened they wouldn't even have scholar. Each scenario has equal amounts of rate ups/downs, but the order of them makes the difference of subscholar and guru.

I've got 1725 excellent, 7595 good, 11,155 decent, 4275 default, 660 sub default, 1 unrated, and 550 nuked posts for example (numbers are rounded obviously, i'm too lazy to count them all). Clearly skewed towards the higher side, yet my karma is only 3.00, which is exactly what it starts at.

You made a thread to ***** about nothing. And then cried to the admins when it didn't go well. I rated all of your posts in that thread down too. And guess what? If i could, i'd rate this post down too.

protip: karma doesn't mean anything. You better deal with it, since you're never getting scholar again.

actually it started as a thread of irony and you guys kept flaming me.. aka the one where someone edited my posts to say "wah wah se hates me" ect.. i wasnt taking offence or flaming back or trolling til after you guys started.. before that my responces were "oh really cool" ect aka i learned something .. but the mob kept at it

This is why you get rated down so much.

Why is it the trolls complain most about their karma scores, and those of us who are considered the "cool kids" or the "clique" never give a **** despite their claims we do...

I think there should be some way to see your karma score, like some sort of number system.
