I was mousing over someone's name in a thread and noticed this. Is it new, or am I just that unobservant.

Additionally, what does that function do, exactly? Does it add in a way to follow their posts, or make it so you see their posts even when Sub-D and using a filter? Or maybe just for PM functionality? Is there a FAQ, or is it not fully implemented yet?

Just curious.

It's definitely PM-related, but that's all I can tell you due to lack of other knowledge on my part.

EDIT: The implementation of this item in the menu (and presumably the two others of the same type) currently has a bug and/or unimplemented functionality in that choosing "Add to Friends", leaving the thread, then returning to it (or finding another post by the same person) has "Add to Friends" still appear. I would assume that it's meant to change to "Remove from Friends" afterwards.

They also linked it to protected journals.

Actually, this is a pretty good example of where we didn't do a very good job of documenting things.

1) what do you feel could be better documented?

2) where, in your personal opinion, is the most logical place to find said documentation?

Thanks!

1)I'd just love to know what it does, personally.
2)That's a damn good question. Perhaps some kind of features FAQ or some such thing?

The only difference between friends and contacts is that friends can access protected journals, but it's something we may expand on in the future.
