You can't access the XIV forums directly from the XI skin anymore. The option to do so was removed when all of the forums were reskinned.

Which is pretty stupid, considering most players from FFXI await that one.

Not that it's really that hard to click forums, and then scroll down to it.

There are a lot of people not from XI who are awaiting it as well. It's just a shame =10 got a head start on the forums and turned it into their own particular brand of **** show. XI people can take the same steps to get there as everyone else.

Come on, if there was a WoW2, you'd kill for a link on WoW's page too.

Nope, that would be hypocrisy. XIV is a seperate game and while there's no denying the affinity XI players might have for it, I'd like to think that a new game deserves a fresh start with a new community. I'd expect no less for Blizzard's next MMO, be it WoW 2.0 or something else.

While I do understand your point, FFXIV had a link at first, which was afterwards removed. If there had never been one, I, for one, wouldn't be crying for a link. However, the was one, which now makes it very annoying to scroll all the ******* way down the page.

I can appreciate that having a convenience taken away is rarely a fun thing. I just think that going forward, it was a worthwhile experience to try it out and see what happened but ultimately it was a poor choice. Not everyone stops playing a game just because the game itself no longer captivates them. Sometimes they also grow tired of the prevalent attitudes associated with the community that plays the game. Using my situation as an example, not only was I fed up with XI, RMT, SE, etc, I was fed up with the botting/cheating/windower abuse/whining of the community.

And in fairness, anyone could turn around and say the same thing about the WoW community going into Blizzard's next MMO. They could have their gripes about the game itself (or just their bias having never actually played it) but they could also have certain aspects of the community that they wouldn't want to see entrenched in new forums dedicated to discussing a new game. Maybe they like what Blizzard has done in other areas of MMO development and are intrigued by the idea of a new Blizzard MMO but WoW in particular + community aspects just weren't their cup of tea. I'd say that those people deserve a fresh start in a new community and while "culture clashes" will be inevitable to some extent, it's not helpful to arrange the forums in such a way as to mislead people into thinking they've got a greater sense of entitlement to be there than anyone else.
