Google Analytics...kill with fire pleaseFollow

#1 Jul 07 2010 at 12:04 AM Rating: Decent
I've been noticing for the last several days that pages are frequently very slow to load and a glance to the bottom of my browser shows that it's stuck trying to load something from google analytics. Is there something that can be done about this? I'm not knowledgeable on all the little trinkets and doodads necessary to keep things running all hunky-dory, but it's starting to get more than a little tedious.

Looking at the browser to see what is loading slow is notoriously incorrect.

If you really want to see what is causing the slowdown, you need to install FireBug or something similar and look at the net tab.

If you use NoScript you can keep Google Analytics from loading on the page.

Interestingly, if you use Google Chrome, you have no such slowdown from Google Analytics.

IT'S A CONSPIRACY
