I am not sure how, but I cannot see signatures when people post. I don't see an option to block or enable this feature in my user settings. I am posting to suggest that such an option be made available.

Please don't "fix" this by somehow making me have to see signatures with no option to turn them off. Smiley: laugh

You don't have the "hide images" box checked do you?

Nope. I can see avatars and images, just not signatures. Like I said, I don't really want to be able to see signatures, it was more of a suggestion for a "hide signatures" box or forum settings option. Not being able to see posters' huge signatures has certainly streamlined the forums and made it easier to read.

Didn't we used to have a hide signatures box?

We used to, but not anymore, so anyone who disabled them then can't turn them back on. And of course no one who wants to hide them can.

Are you running an addon that allows you to override the site CSS? And possibly have msgSig or msgSigBar set to display:none?

Not true. The option never existed. There is nothing in the code that checks for a setting to hide signatures and there is no data in the user preferences table for it.

It existed, I can't tell when it was coded out, but it existed.

Smiley: lol Yeah... I don't remember adding that into my style sheet. I must have been inebriated or something.

In any case, it should be a site function, IMO. Many signatures are quite ungainly. I know I've asked before to force [sm] tags on signatures, or to reduce the amount of space you are allowed to take up with them. There should also be a more significant way to distinguish signatures from actual post content than the small dash line.

A hide certain meme avatar button should be added, too. Smiley: clown

Well, you can hide images, adblock the specific avatar, or report it if it's offensive. I have several posters' avatars blocked because I don't like them. Anyway, when I'm not feeling particularly lazy, I'll go find a new avatar.

I was just being silly, I've actually enjoyed how it has evolved over the days.

I believe there was the option to hide the signature images, but not the whole signature itself. I could be wrong, though.

That might have been it. Now I'm thinking it was the hide avatars button that I was thinking about.
