Wow, that's a lot.

Regardless, I wasn't necessarily saying that the premium users should get extra **** 'cause they make the site so much more. More that we actually shell money out of our own pocket, so we should get extra ****. Smiley: nod

I'm selfish like that.

Unfortunately, I must agree with everyone on the new website design. While change is normal, upsetting this apple cart will cause more than a few bruised apples. This new format is not easy to use and does not have the "warm and fuzzy" feeling of a well known location that you know all about.

I am both a premium member (years) and a regular contributor on images, data, mob drops, and comments on anything our group comes across. Besides being very surprised, I'm stunned that a company who depends on their audience would take this sort of action. Zam, this is not a good change, it is not a prudent change, and I'm not sure if its worth going premium again. Please bring back the old and trusted allak that EQ'ers know and love.

Wow, that's a lot.

Regardless, I wasn't necessarily saying that the premium users should get extra sh*t 'cause they make the site so much more. More that we actually shell money out of our own pocket, so we should get extra sh*t. Smiley: nod

I understand, I had always kinda wondered what impact premium accts had on the site and you reminded me.

I actually find it a bit easier to navigate on the WoW skin. The only "blah" factor is the space on the right side for ads. It's just a bit empty space. Seems like a poor layout with that there and nothing in it.

What about left side? I've got massive walls of single-color on each side.

Pictured for clarification. Seriously guys, from a design standpoint this layout is ****.

That has to do with your resolution, I'm betting. Not that it helps any...

That's why I said from a design standpoint. You don't design a site that only looks good in mid resolutions. It's retarded to plan that way.

Agreed. It took a little getting used to, but now it's much better than the old way.

Agreed with this as well. It's not a major problem for me since the majority of my time here is while I'm at work on a smaller monitor, but at home it's kinda irritating.

Well since the changes every thing has been kinda laggy, and some times i have to wait 20 seconds to do any thing at all.

It seems significantly faster to me. Smiley: sly

At home, I have maybe 1/4inch of space to either side. At work, there's easily 2 inches to either side. It's a resolution or browser thing.

Yea, I have a good 2 inches on either side. As for navigation, I have no comment since my use of this site at this point is solely restricted to a few forums, all of which I have bookmarked.

As for the number of premium accounts, I can't think of all the times I've seen a random comment on an item/quest/etc. on this site from someone with 1 post but who has premium. I think a lot of people sign up for premium without realizing they don't need it to view all the wonderful content on this site. Either way, I do think it contributes a significant portion, at least enough for a significant portion of the admins' pay if I had to guess.

When is the last time any of you have paid for that Yahoo or Google page? They do change their layouts. I dont send them money for a subscription. I do send Allakhazam money.

I dont see how I sound like a whining *****, A whining ***** is some one who doesnt pay for anything and then complains about what they get. I do pay and I do expect to have input on the product I pay for.

As a premium member, PLEASSE...at least give me the option of retaining the old site. I hate this new one so much I can't even express the magnitude! Since I am paying, can't I please have choice? I will have to think long and hard before I renew as I really don't want to pay for this crap with ads (which, are NOT supposed to be there since I PAY to remove them!)and really, it doesn't matter what you call them...an AD is an AD is an AD. I feel like you have stolen my premium money now.

Can you post a screenshot of the ads you are seeing? You should not be seeing any paid advertisements at all and I want to be sure you aren't seeing any.

As far as I'm concerned, the bottom of the site on the ffxi skin is an ad.

I heard they tried to get an Everquest player to offer feedback on how to redesign the sight, but all three of you were too busy.

#46REDACTED, Posted: Apr 17 2010 at 12:35 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I only come here once in awhile these days (use to come all the time before Jeff sold out to IGE). It's threads like this that remind me (and even make me happy) why I didn't renew my premium several years ago.

I just have to add my two cents: This really sucks. The old interface was (I guess...too) easy to use. The Search system actually worked. Now...I can't "search" to find a known NPC. If I was new to "Zam" maybe I wouldn't notice all the really bad changes made. But, I'm not new. And if I can't find what I want to from here...I don't think I'll be paying for the service anymore.

Ya got me this year Zam. But, I doubt I'll be back again when it comes time to renew. Regardless of what game I'm playing then...
